Book the Hyundai Santa Fe 2022 in Dubai for a week that leaves the city more than once, and the number that matters most isn't the daily rate. It's the extra-kilometre charge: 30 fils per kilometre past the 5,000 km included in the rental, well under what most mid-size SUVs charge once you're over the limit. That's the difference between watching the odometer on a run to Hatta or the northern emirates and just driving. Book it for a month instead and the same 5,000 km has to stretch much further, so a long-term renter doing a daily commute should do the math before assuming the allowance covers a full 30 days. For a week to ten days mixing city errands with real road time, it's a genuinely good deal. Minimum age to rent is 22, and delivery to your door usually takes one to two hours from booking.

Seats, boot and the family week

The 71-litre tank still gives a solid range between fills, somewhere around 650 to 750 km depending on how much of your week is stop-start city driving versus open highway. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental are the renter's responsibility, as they are with every car we hand over.

The cabin is large enough that it doesn't cool as fast as a small hatchback after baking in an open car park at 45 degrees, but the front vents pull hard once the engine is running, and a few minutes with the doors shut clears most of the heat.
