Hyundai Palisade 2022 - start from 361 AED / day

We hand over the Hyundai Palisade 2022 across Dubai with a no-deposit option, so a big family or a full group can take a three-row SUV without tying up cash on a hold. This is the rare seven-seater where the third row fits real adults, not just kids you fold in for short hops. The cabin is plush and quiet, the 3.5-litre V6 is smooth, and there's room for luggage even with every seat occupied. The trade-off is honest: it's a large machine to thread through a Marina car park, and the V6 visits the pump more often than a four-cylinder crossover. This page sorts out who that maths actually works for.

Who the Palisade is really for

The argument is simple. If you're moving six or seven people regularly, the Palisade is one of the few rentals where row three isn't a punishment. Two adults can sit back there for a Hatta run or an airport drop without complaint, and that's not true of most "seven-seaters" in this class, which quietly assume the back bench is for children.

Where it stops making sense is the smaller family. Two adults and a kid or two means renting and parking a lot of car you won't use, and a midsize SUV does the same school run with less bulk. And if the booking is about badge and cabin finish, the Palisade isn't pretending to be a luxury seven-seater. It's the practical one.

The numbers in prose below are what matter; the table is just there to check.

Space, the third row, and luggage

This is where the Palisade earns its rental. The second row is wide and the third row has proper head and knee room, so you can put grown adults in all three rows and still have a civil drive to the airport. The rear rows get their own vents too, which matters more than people expect once you've felt a Dubai cabin in July.

Luggage is the honest part. With all three rows up, the boot takes the everyday stuff: a few soft bags, a stroller, the daily shopping. It's around 500 litres back there, enough for a family day out but not for seven people's airport cases. Fold the third row and it opens right up, the realistic setup for a five-person group with luggage. So the rule of thumb: seven people and small bags, fine; seven people and seven suitcases, you're sizing the trip down to five.

Driving it in Dubai, and the fuel question

On Sheikh Zayed Road the Palisade is in its element. The V6 has enough in reserve to overtake a truck on the E11 without drama, the 8-speed auto shifts cleanly, and the cabin stays quiet at a cruise, which is the whole point of a car like this on a long airport run. AWD adds surefootedness in the odd summer downpour, though this is a family SUV, not a dune machine. The 203 mm of clearance clears speed bumps and mall ramps comfortably, and it handles a paved Hatta weekend with the family aboard.

Now the fuel. A 3.5-litre V6 hauling a car this size is not economical, and pretending otherwise would be silly. Expect around 11 to 12 litres per 100 km in normal Dubai mixed driving, more in slow crawl with the AC working hard. The 71-litre tank gives you roughly 600 km of range, so on a week of city running plus a couple of longer trips, plan on filling up maybe twice. If a low fuel bill matters most to you, this isn't your car. If you need the seats, it's the cost of the space.

Heat, parking, and the Dubai admin

Cabin cooling is strong. The Palisade takes a moment longer than a small hatch to drop from a 45-degree parked soak, but the air pushes hard through the front vents, and the rear-row vents mean the people in the back aren't left baking. By the time you've cleared the car park, it's comfortable end to end.

Parking is the real daily friction. At nearly five metres long and almost two wide, the Palisade fills a standard bay and asks for care in tight Marina and mall multi-storeys. The reversing camera and sensors do the heavy lifting, but you'll think about your angles in a way you wouldn't in a small SUV. None of it is hard once you've driven it for a day, but it's a genuine difference from renting something compact.

A couple of operational notes. Salik tolls run on the renter's account, and any RTA fines during the rental pass to you, so keep to the posted limits on the E11. Child seats are required for under-fours, worth arranging up front when you're travelling with little ones.

The verdict

Rent the Palisade when the seat count is the point: a six or seven-strong group, a multi-generation family week, or an airport run where everyone and most of the bags fit in one vehicle. It's the adult-friendly three-row SUV in the practical bracket, and the quiet V6 makes long Dubai distances easy. Skip it if you're a family of three or four, where a midsize SUV is cheaper to fuel and easier to park, or if you want a premium badge, where a luxury seven-seater is the better call. For genuine space without the badge tax, the Palisade is the one I'd hand a big family.
