Booking a Hyundai Elantra 2023 in Dubai shouldn't tie up your card, so we offer a no-deposit option and bring the car to your door inside one to two hours. This is the compact sedan we'd hand a renter who spends real time on the highway: the long runs out to Abu Dhabi, the airport hops, the daily commute on Sheikh Zayed Road. It cruises calm and quiet at the limit, the boot takes a proper week of luggage, and it sips fuel the whole time. Our take: for steady highway and city use it's the sensible spend, more car than a budget hatch and far cheaper to run than a midsize. The catch is the engine, which is tuned for smoothness over shove, and this page tells you whether that suits your week.
The 2023 Elantra is a five-seat economy sedan with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, an automatic, and front-wheel drive making around 147 hp. That's the honest character of it. There's enough to merge onto the E11 and hold 120 in comfort, and the cabin stays composed at speed, but it's built for economy rather than push. Ask for a hard overtake and the auto takes a beat to drop down before the revs come up. For commuting, airport pickups, and a long haul to Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah, that's no obstacle. If you want a car that feels quick, this isn't it.
What makes the Elantra worth the rate is the package around that engine. The cabin's wide, the back seat takes two adults in real comfort and three for shorter trips, and the styling reads a class above the price when you pull up somewhere that matters.

This is the Elantra's strongest argument. On the highway it barely sips, and even hard city driving in summer heat with the AC working rarely pushes it far past the high 7s per 100 km. The combined figure sits near 6.9. With a tank close to 47 litres, a week of mixed driving (commute plus errands plus the odd longer run) goes by on roughly one fill. Two airport trips to DXB and a handful of mall visits won't have you hunting for a station. Plan a long haul to Abu Dhabi and you'll get there and most of the way back on a single tank, which is real money saved against a thirstier midsize.
The boot takes two full-size suitcases plus a medium bag or two with all seats up, which makes it a comfortable airport car for two people with a week's gear. Fold the rear seats and you'll fit around four large cases for the bigger trip. The sedan opening is wide but won't swallow a tall box the way a hatch tailgate does, so pack flat rather than vertical. For the runs this car is built for, the space is honest and usable.
Park an Elantra in open sun in July and the dash turns untouchable, same as any car here. What matters is recovery, and the compact cabin is on your side. The front vents pull hard and the space cools within a few minutes of pulling away. Rear passengers get vents too, which not every car in this bracket offers, so kids or back-seat colleagues aren't left baking. Crank it to max on start, give it a minute, then settle it back. It handles a 45-degree afternoon better than most economy cars simply because there's less air to chill.
At a touch over 4.6 metres the Elantra is longer than a small hatch but still easy to place. It drops into standard mall and tower bays without drama, and the light steering makes U-turns and multi-storey ramps painless. Ground clearance around 140 mm is normal sedan territory, fine for Dubai speed bumps and ramps if you take the steep ones at an angle and don't load it to the roof. You won't scrape on a Marina ramp in normal use, and most cars carry a reversing camera for the tighter bays.
A few Dubai rules worth stating plainly. Salik tolls are on you, the renter, every time you pass a gantry, and any RTA fines during your rental pass through to you as well, so drive it like it's yours. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, front and back, and children under four need a proper child seat, which we can fit on request. None of this is Elantra-specific, but it's the part renters forget until the statement lands.
Rent the Elantra 2023 if you want a smart-looking, cheap-to-run sedan for commuting, airport pickups, and a comfortable highway cruise, with room for four adults and a boot that handles two large cases plus a soft bag. For most business and leisure renters here, it's the sensible middle: more car than a budget hatch, far less cost than a midsize.
Size up to a Camry or Accord if you regularly carry four-plus adults with full luggage or want noticeably more grunt for fast overtakes. Drop to a cheaper hatch only if budget is the single deciding factor and you stay mostly in the city. For everyone in between, the Elantra is the one we'd hand you the keys to.
