Most people who rent the Hyundai Elantra 2022 in Dubai are choosing between a small hatchback and a full midsize sedan, and this compact saloon is the sensible middle. It gives you real rear-seat room and a big boot without the running cost or the parking hassle of something larger. We can have one at your door in one to two hours, so it suits a same-day booking as easily as a monthly stay. The question this page answers is simple: is a comfortable, frugal sedan enough car for your week here, or do you actually need to size up? For most renters, it isn't a close call.
The 2.0-litre petrol makes 150 hp through an automatic to the front wheels, and around town that's exactly the right character. It's smooth and quiet crawling along Sheikh Zayed Road at the end of the day, and it pulls away from lights without any fuss. The quoted 9.8 seconds to 100 tells you it's adequate, not quick. Ask for a hard overtake at highway speed and the gearbox needs a moment to gather itself before much happens.
At a steady 120 it's calm and composed, which is what daily Dubai driving actually asks for. The ride leans slightly firm, so it feels planted on good asphalt and a touch busy over the sharper speed bumps in older communities. Keep it on paved roads and it does everything a week here needs.

At 4675 mm long the Elantra is stretched for a compact, and that length pays off in the back seat. Two adults on a cross-city trip aren't wedged against each other. The one catch is the low roofline, so a tall passenger will graze the headliner on a longer journey. For a couple, or two adults and a couple of kids, the cabin is comfortable.
The boot runs to about 402 litres, which is generous for the class. Two large suitcases and a few soft bags fit for a DXB or DWC pickup without anything riding on the back seat. Three full-size hard cases is the point where the packing gets awkward, and that's where I'd tell you to look at a Sonata instead.
This is where the Elantra quietly earns its keep. The 2.0-litre returns roughly 6.5 litres per 100 km in mixed driving, a little more in heavy traffic with the AC working hard. On the 47-litre tank that's a real week of city errands, dinners and airport runs between fills. Petrol is cheap in Dubai, so the saving over a thirstier crossover is modest in dirhams, but you'll spend far less time at the pump. The 250 km daily allowance also sits comfortably ahead of a normal Dubai week, so a run up to the northern emirates won't tip you into the 1 AED per extra kilometre.
Parked in June sun at 45 degrees the cabin bakes, and recovery time is what matters. The Elantra's AC pulls it back to comfortable within a few minutes, the front vents blow hard, and there are rear outlets so back-seat passengers aren't left out on the school run. Crack the windows for ten seconds before you set off to dump the worst of the trapped heat.
Parking is easy. The car looks bigger than it drives, slots into standard bays without complaint, and the rear camera takes the guesswork out of tight Marina basements. A couple of rental basics worth stating plainly: Salik tolls run on your account, so every gate you pass is billed to the rental, and any RTA fines during your hire pass to you. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, and a child seat is required for under-fours, which we can fit on request.
Rent the Elantra 2022 if you want a smart, economical sedan for a week or a month of city driving and airport runs, with a boot that takes a real load and running costs that stay low. For a value-first renter who still wants a recent car, it's the obvious pick.
Size up to a Hyundai Sonata if you regularly carry four adults who'll want the rear headroom, or if your week is mostly fast highway driving where the extra composure counts. And if you only need the cheapest thing that moves and don't mind an older cabin, a previous-generation Elantra saves a little more. For the broad middle of Dubai renters, this car lands right in the sweet spot.
