Hyundai Elantra 2022 - start from 153 AED / day

Book the Hyundai Elantra 2022 in Dubai and there's no card lock-up to worry about, because we run a no-deposit option and take whatever's easiest on delivery, cards, cash, bank transfer, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We bring it to your door in one to two hours, and the rental comes with 250 km a day, which is more headroom than the average city week needs. That combination is why this compact sedan books out to people on monthly stays. The decision this page helps you make is whether a comfortable, fuel-light sedan is the right size for your time here, or whether you should size up. For most renters, the Elantra is plenty.

What it costs you to run for a week

This is the part that decides most Elantra rentals, so we'll lead with it. The 2.0-litre petrol returns somewhere around 6.5 litres per 100 km in mixed driving, a touch thirstier in heavy AC and stop-start traffic. On the 47-litre tank that's a genuine week of city errands, dinners and a couple of airport runs between fills. Petrol is cheap here, so the saving over a thirstier crossover is modest in dirhams, but you'll spend less time at the pump, and that's the real convenience.

The 250 km daily allowance matters more than people expect. A normal Dubai week of Marina to Downtown, mall trips and a DXB collection sits well inside it. Drive out to the northern emirates a few times and you've still got room before the 1 AED per extra kilometre kicks in.

Room for people and bags

At 4676 mm long the 2022 Elantra is stretched for a compact, and that length shows up as decent rear knee room. Two adults in the back on a cross-city run aren't folded into each other. The catch is the roofline. The cabin is low, so a tall passenger in the back will brush the headliner on a longer trip. For a couple, or two adults and a couple of kids, it's comfortable.

The boot runs to about 402 litres, which is large for the class. Two big suitcases and a couple of soft bags fit for an airport pickup. Three full-size hard cases is the point where someone's bag rides on the back seat. For a small family doing a DXB or DWC run, it's more than enough.

How it drives here

The 150 hp 2.0-litre is smooth and quiet around town, which is exactly what you want crawling along Sheikh Zayed Road at the end of the day. The quoted 9.8 seconds to 100 tells you it's adequate rather than quick. Ask for a fast overtake at highway speed and the automatic takes a beat to wind up before much happens. It cruises calmly at 120, and for daily Dubai use that's the right balance.

The ride leans firm, which reads as composed on Dubai's good asphalt and a bit busy over the sharper speed bumps in older communities. The 135 mm of clearance is normal sedan height, so mall ramps and multi-storey entries are no drama. Keep it on paved roads and it's happy.

Heat, parking and the basics

Parked in June sun at 45 degrees the cabin bakes, and the question is recovery time. The Elantra's AC pulls it down to comfortable within a few minutes, the front vents blow hard, and there are rear outlets so back-seat passengers aren't left out on the school run. Crack the windows for ten seconds before you set off to dump the worst of the trapped heat.

Parking is easy. The car looks bigger than it drives, slots into standard bays without fuss, and the rear camera takes the guesswork out of tight spaces. A few rental basics worth stating plainly: Salik tolls run on your account, so every gate you pass is billed to the rental, and any RTA fines during your hire pass to you. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, and a child seat is required for under-fours, which we can fit on request.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Elantra 2022 if you want a smart, economical sedan for a week or a month of city driving and airport runs, with a roomy boot and running costs that stay low. For value-first renters who still want a recent car, it's the obvious pick, and the no-deposit booking makes it an easy one.

Size up to a Hyundai Sonata if you regularly carry four adults who'll want the rear headroom, or if your week is mostly fast highway driving where you'd appreciate more punch. And if you only need the cheapest thing that moves and don't care about the newer cabin, an older Elantra saves you a little more. For the broad middle, this car hits the sweet spot.
