Hyundai Elantra 2021 - start from 135 AED / day

Pay how you like on delivery, by card, cash, or wallet, and we'll hand over a Hyundai Elantra 2021 anywhere in Dubai. The draw here is the way this compact sedan reads on the street. The low, angular nose and the creased flanks look like they belong to something a class up, yet it rents and runs like a sensible commuter. That gap, between how it looks and what it costs to keep moving, is the whole reason to put it on your shortlist. It seats five, swallows a week of luggage, and sips fuel on the daily run, which makes it a strong value pick for commuting and airport runs.

The look does a lot of the work

Most cars in this rental bracket are honest and forgettable. The Elantra isn't. The sharp creases down the side and the wide, low grille give it presence that flatters whoever's behind the wheel, which matters more than people admit when you're pulling up to a hotel forecourt or a client meeting. You get the visual upgrade without paying sedan-segment money for it.

Be clear about what that styling is and isn't. It looks fast. It isn't. The 2.0L and the automatic are tuned for smooth, unbothered cruising, not for quick getaways off the line. Plant your foot to overtake on Sheikh Zayed Road and the engine gets vocal before it gets urgent. For everyday Dubai driving that's a non-issue, since 147 hp is plenty to sit comfortably at highway speed and slot into gaps. If you want the car to feel as sharp as it looks, this isn't that car.

Cabin space and the plain bits

Inside, the win is room. The wheelbase is long for a compact, so back-seat passengers get proper legroom, and three adults across the rear works for shorter trips. Two in the back have it easy all week. The driving position is low and supportive, and the cabin stays quiet enough on the highway that a DXB run doesn't wear you out.

The honest caveat is the materials. Plastics on the doors and lower dash are plain and hard, the kind you notice once and then forget. The design dresses it up well, but run a hand across it and the budget shows. If a soft, premium-feeling interior is high on your list, you'll want to step up. For everyone else, it's clean, sensible, and built to take daily use.

Will my airport cases fit

Yes, and this is where the Elantra quietly beats its hatchback rivals. The boot is one of the bigger ones in the class, a deep, wide, square load space rather than a shallow tray. Two large suitcases plus a couple of cabin bags go in without a fight, which covers a family arriving at DXB or a group heading to DWC. The 60/40 rear seats fold if you need to slide something long through. For luggage capacity at this rental level, very little touches it.

Fuel, heat, and the running cost

On the combined 6.4 L/100km figure, the 47-litre tank gives you roughly 730 km between fills. Real Dubai driving lands higher, closer to 7.5 to 8 L/100km once you factor in stop-start traffic and the AC working hard, so plan on one fill a week for normal commuting rather than the brochure's best case. It's genuinely frugal for a roomy sedan, and that's a big part of the value story.

The AC matters more than the economy in summer. At 45C a parked Elantra cabin is an oven, and the front vents pull it down to comfortable within a few minutes of moving, which is what you want. Rear passengers get vents too, so the back doesn't bake on longer drives. It's a competent cooler, not a luxury climate system, and on the worst July afternoons you'll wait a minute or two longer than you'd like before it's properly cold.

A few Dubai practicalities. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental are billed to you, and seat belts are required in every seat. The 134 mm clearance is normal sedan height, fine for speed bumps and mall ramps if you take steep Marina entries slowly, and the tidy footprint makes multi-storey bays and U-turns easy.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Elantra if you want a comfortable, frugal, good-looking sedan for commuting, airport pickups, and family errands across the week, and you care that it looks more expensive than it is. That's exactly the renter it suits, and it does that job better than most things at this level.

Step up to a midsize sedan if you regularly carry four adults on long highway stretches and want more shoulder room and a plusher cabin, or if you want real pace to match the styling. Drop down to a hatchback only if parking in the very tightest old-town spots is your top concern and you can live with far less boot. For the broad middle, the comfortable commute with the big boot and the sharp suit, the Elantra is the smart call.
