Need a fresh compact sedan for a Dubai week without paying sedan-plus money? We hand over the Hyundai Accent 2025 at your door in one to two hours, so the car reaches you while you're still unpacking. This is the newest Accent on our fleet, and it earns its keep as a frugal, roomy-for-its-class commuter with a boot that swallows real airport luggage. The argument here is simple. For city errands, daily commuting, and DXB or DWC runs with a couple of large cases, the Accent does the job cheaply and comfortably. Where it asks you to be honest is power and cabin polish, and we'll tell you exactly where to step up instead.
The current Accent runs a 1.6-litre four-cylinder making 130 hp, sent through an automatic gearbox to the front wheels. That's enough for the way most renters actually drive in Dubai. It pulls cleanly off the line at lights, holds 100 to 120 on Sheikh Zayed Road without fuss, and slots into traffic without you planning the overtake three cars ahead. It isn't quick, and you feel that when you ask for a sudden burst to clear a slow truck on the E11. But for a commuter and airport car, the engine is well matched to the job.
The bigger story is space. At 4535 mm long with a 1765 mm width, the Accent gives you a back seat that fits two adults properly, three at a push for short hops. Headroom and knee room are genuinely good for an economy sedan, which matters if you're ferrying family rather than just yourself.
This is where the Accent pulls ahead of most cars in its rental bracket. The trunk holds about 388 litres, and it's a usefully square shape rather than a shallow slot. In real terms that's two large suitcases plus a couple of cabin bags, or three medium cases if you pack the soft bags around them. For a family of four flying into DXB with a week's luggage, that's the difference between everything fitting in the boot and stacking a case on someone's lap.
If you're collecting more than four people with full-size luggage, the boot starts to lose the argument and you'd want a larger sedan or a crossover. For the standard couple-or-small-family airport run, it's one of the easier cars to load on our economy shelf.
The Accent is frugal in the way that actually counts for a renter. It returns roughly 16 km per litre in mixed driving, and the 45-litre tank gives you a real-world range comfortably past 600 km. For a normal Dubai week of commuting, mall runs, and one or two longer trips, you're looking at a single fill-up, maybe topping off before you hand the keys back. That keeps your running cost low and saves you hunting for a station mid-week.

Park anything in a Dubai summer and the cabin hits oven temperatures by midday. The Accent's air conditioning is honest, single-zone climate that does the main job well. The front vents push hard, and a cabin this size cools faster than a big SUV simply because there's less air to chill. Expect the worst of a 45-degree soak to come off in a few minutes of driving with the fan up, and a comfortable cabin not long after. There are no rear vents on this class of car, so back-seat passengers rely on the front blowers reaching them, which they do well enough in a cabin this compact. Don't expect ventilated seats or twin-zone luxury. That's not what this car is.
Around town the Accent is easy to live with. It's compact enough for Marina and mall multi-storey bays, the turning circle handles tight U-turns, and visibility out the front is clean for judging gaps. The 172 mm of ground clearance clears Dubai's aggressive speed bumps and steeper mall ramps without scraping, which is more than some lower sedans manage. You won't think twice about where to leave it.
A couple of Dubai operating notes worth knowing. Salik tolls run on your account through the gate tags, and any RTA fines during your rental pass to you, so keep an eye on speed-camera zones on the E11. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, front and back.
Rent the Accent 2025 if you want a fresh, frugal sedan for commuting and airport duty, you're carrying real luggage and you don't want to pay for a size up you won't use. It's also one of our easier picks for younger drivers, since we rent from 18 where much of the market starts at 21. If you want sharper power, a plusher cabin, and more presence on Sheikh Zayed Road, step up to an Elantra. If you're solo, on a tight budget, and rarely carry passengers or large bags, a smaller budget sedan or hatch will cost you less and do the limited job just as well. For most people booking an economy sedan in Dubai, though, the Accent hits the practical middle better than anything around it.
