Hyundai Accent 2024 - start from 140 AED / day

Need a compact sedan that won't drink fuel or cost a fortune to rent, and you don't want a deposit tying up your card? That's the slot the Hyundai Accent 2024 fills, and we deliver it across Dubai with a no-deposit option, so nothing sits frozen on your account while you drive. This page is about one decision: whether the Accent is the right-sized sedan for your week here, or whether you should size up to an Elantra or pull back to a bare budget car. Our read is simple. For commuting, airport runs, and four people with luggage, the Accent is the value sweet spot, roomy for its class and genuinely easy on petrol.

Where the Accent earns its keep

Most rentals in this price bracket force a choice between a cramped hatch and a thirsty sedan. The Accent sidesteps that. It's a proper five-seat sedan with a boot you can actually use, but it runs on a small 1.6-litre engine that sips fuel rather than gulps it. For a resident doing the daily Sheikh Zayed Road grind, or a visitor who needs a clean, comfortable car for two weeks, that combination is hard to argue with.

The 130 horsepower won't pin you back in the seat, and you'll notice that when you floor it to merge onto the E11 at speed. But around town and at a steady highway cruise it's perfectly composed. The front-wheel-drive setup and light steering make it an easy car to live with in traffic, which is most of what Dubai driving actually is.

Fuel and how often you'll stop

This is where the Accent quietly wins. A 45-litre tank and real-world economy near 13 km/L means a full tank covers close to 580 km, and a week of normal city driving rarely burns through one fill. Most renters top up once, maybe twice if they're racking up airport runs or a Hatta day trip. With the 250 km per day included in your rental, the Accent's frugality means you'll rarely think about the pump or your mileage allowance.

One thing to keep straight: Salik tolls are on you, and any RTA fines pass to the renter, so watch the gantries on the E11 and keep belts on for everyone in the car. None of that is Accent-specific, but it's the part renters forget until the bill lands.

Boot space and the airport question

The boot is the Accent's other strong card. At around 528 litres it's large for a compact sedan, and that translates to real luggage. Two large suitcases plus a couple of cabin bags fit without a wrestling match, which is exactly what you want for a DXB or DWC pickup with a family. A budget hatch in this price range can't do that. If you're four adults flying in with full cases, the Accent handles it where smaller cars tap out.

Rear legroom is decent for the class too. Two adults sit comfortably behind two more, and the flat-ish floor means the middle seat is usable for shorter trips rather than a punishment.

Heat, cooling, and the cabin

Park anything in a Dubai car park in July and it turns into an oven. The Accent's AC is a single-zone setup, but it's effective, and the smaller cabin works in your favour here. Front vents pull a baking interior down to comfortable within a few minutes of driving, faster than a big SUV would manage. There are no rear vents, so back-seat passengers wait a touch longer on the hottest days, though it's a minor gripe once the car is moving.

The cabin itself is plain. Hard plastics, a straightforward screen, nothing that pretends to be premium. If you want soft-touch materials and a richer interior, that's your cue to look at an Elantra. The Accent's honest pitch is function over flash, and at this rate that's a fair trade.

Parking and city manoeuvring

At 4.5 metres it's compact enough to slot into tight multi-storey bays and the cramped spaces around the Marina without drama. The light steering makes U-turns and parallel parking easy, and the modest ride height clears standard speed bumps and mall ramps without scraping. It's a car you stop thinking about in traffic, which for daily Dubai use is the whole point.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Accent if you want a roomy, economical sedan for commuting, airport transfers, or a family visit, and you'd rather not pay for a bigger car you won't use. It's the value pick: more boot and back seat than a budget hatch, far cheaper to run than anything larger.

Step up to an Elantra if you want a nicer cabin, more highway muscle, and added tech for long motorway stints, or if you're regularly carrying four adults at speed. Drop to a basic budget sedan only if you're a solo driver on short city hops and every dirham counts. For most people landing somewhere in the middle, the Accent is the smart call, and we'll have it at your door within one to two hours.
