We deliver the Hyundai Accent 2021 to your door in Dubai in about 1 to 2 hours, which is the first reason most people pick it for a week of plain, low-cost driving. This is the budget compact sedan you rent when you want a comfortable boot, five real seats, and a fuel bill that barely registers. It won't thrill anyone, and that's the point. The Accent is an easy commuter and a sensible airport car, built around a relaxed 1.6-litre engine and a six-speed automatic that asks nothing of you. The rest of this page is about who it suits and when you should pay for something bigger.

The Accent's whole case rests here. The 1.6 sips about 6.4 litres per 100 km on a balanced run, and the tank holds 45 litres. In honest Dubai conditions, meaning AC fighting 45-degree heat, a few stretches of Sheikh Zayed Road, and the usual crawl near junctions, you'll see closer to 7 to 7.5 in town. Even then, one fill covers most of a normal week. If you're doing daily Marina-to-Business-Bay commutes and the odd mall run, expect to refuel maybe once across seven days. That's the number that matters more than any horsepower figure on a car like this.
The included mileage is generous too, so you're not watching the odometer on weekend drives. For a renter whose main goal is keeping costs down, the Accent does its one job well.
The boot is 396 litres, which is large for this class and genuinely useful at the airport. Two large hard cases and a couple of soft bags go in without a fight, and the boot opening is wide enough that you're not playing geometry games at the kerb. For a family of four flying into DXB with a week's luggage, this is where the Accent beats every hatchback at the same rate. A hatch gives you flexibility with the seats down, but for suitcases that stay packed, a sedan boot wins.
Inside, five seats is technically true and mostly honest. Two adults up front and two kids behind are comfortable for daily errands. Put a third adult in the middle rear and longer trips get tight, as they do in any car this size.
Don't expect urgency. The Accent takes 11.3 seconds to reach 100, and you feel that when you ask for a quick overtake on the E11. Plan your moves, leave a gap, and it's fine. At a 120 cruise it sits steady enough, though wind and road noise climb and the engine sounds busy if you push past 120. For airport runs to DXB or the longer haul out to DWC, it's perfectly capable, just unhurried. This is a car that rewards a relaxed right foot, not an impatient one.
Around town it's at its best. Light steering, a tight turning circle, and a modest 4.44-metre length make Marina ramps, multi-storey bays, and U-turns easy, so parking is a non-event. The ride is soft over speed bumps, and because it's a low-slung sedan rather than a crossover, you'll slow down properly for the steeper ramps rather than scraping anything.
The AC is the single most important system in a Dubai rental, and on the Accent it's adequate rather than powerful. Park it in open sun and the cabin gets genuinely hot. Front vents pull the temperature down within a few minutes once you're moving, but a parked-from-cold start takes patience, especially with the dark interior trims soaking up heat. There are no rear air vents on most versions, so back-seat passengers rely on airflow from the front, which is fine for two kids on short hops and merely okay on a long crawl in July. Crack the windows for the first thirty seconds and you'll cool it faster.
A couple of Dubai rules sit on the renter, not on us. Salik tolls are charged to your account each time you pass a gantry, and RTA fines pass through to you. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat. None of this is unusual, but it's worth knowing the tolls are yours before you plan a route that crosses three gantries each way.
Rent the Accent if you want the cheapest sensible automatic sedan for commuting, errands, and airport pickups, and you value a big boot and low fuel bills over performance or polish. For a couple, a small family, or a solo professional doing city miles, it's the smart-money pick.
Step up to a Hyundai Elantra if you'll spend real time on the highway, carry four adults regularly, or want a quieter, better-equipped cabin that doesn't feel basic. The Elantra costs more and drinks a little more, but it earns it on long drives. Go the other way, down to a hatchback, only if you never carry full-size suitcases and want the tightest possible parking and the lowest rate. For most people who want one car to handle the whole week without fuss, the Accent is the honest middle.
