Gmc Yukon 2024 - start from 733 AED / day

Need a vehicle big enough to swallow a whole family, their luggage and still leave the third row usable? We bring the GMC Yukon 2024 to your door in Dubai inside one to two hours, fuelled and ready, so you can load up at home instead of queuing at a rental desk. This is the full-size SUV you rent when a seven-seater feels tight and a midsize crossover won't do. Three real rows, a 5.3L V8 with a commanding high seating position, and the cruising muscle for a loaded Sheikh Zayed Road run or a Hatta weekend. The trade-off is its sheer size and a V8's honest thirst, and this page is about whether that trade works for your week.

Who the Yukon is actually for

The Yukon earns its keep when the passenger count is high and the journeys are long. Eight people with cabin bags, a group airport pickup at DXB or DWC where everyone arrives with a full case, a family that wants the kids spread across two rear rows rather than wedged shoulder to shoulder. From the driver's seat you sit well above traffic, which makes lane changes and merging on the E11 calm rather than fraught.

If you're two adults doing mall runs and the odd beach trip, this is far more car than you need. It's also the wrong pick if your week is mostly multi-storey parking in Marina towers, for reasons I'll get to. But for big loads and big distances, very little else in a rental fleet matches it.

Space, seats and whether your luggage fits

The headline is the third row. In most "seven-seaters" that back bench is a punishment seat for short hops. In the Yukon, two adults can sit there for an airport run without complaint, and that changes who you can carry.

The honest catch is boot space behind a full house. With all three rows up, the cargo area takes a few soft bags and a couple of carry-ons, not a stack of large hard cases. If eight people are travelling with eight suitcases, someone is folding part of the third row. Fold that row and the space behind the second row turns cavernous, easily a week of family luggage or a Carrefour run that would defeat a normal SUV. The trick is matching your seating to your cargo: full rows for a short DXB transfer, one row dropped for a luggage-heavy departure.

The V8, fuel and how often you'll refuel

The 5.3L V8 puts out around 355 hp through a 10-speed automatic, and it never feels strained hauling a full cabin. Overtaking on the highway is effortless and it tows without drama if you're pulling a trailer out to a desert camp.

That muscle costs fuel. Expect roughly 13 to 14 litres per 100 km in mixed Dubai driving, more in heavy stop-start traffic with the AC working hard. The tank holds about 91 litres, which gives a realistic range near 650 km on a fill. In practice you'll refuel maybe once or twice across a normal week of city use, more if you're commuting long distances daily or running to Hatta. Petrol here is cheap by global standards, but a thirsty V8 is still a thirsty V8, and you should plan for it rather than be surprised by it.

Heat, AC and the back rows

A cabin this large takes a moment to cool after it's been parked in a 45C car park, so give it a few minutes with the fans up before everyone piles in. The payoff is dedicated rear vents that actually reach the second and third rows, so the people furthest from the dash aren't left baking while the front stays cool. For a family car in a Dubai summer, that rear airflow matters more than almost any other feature, and the Yukon handles it properly.

Parking, ramps and Dubai driving

This is where you have to be honest with yourself. The Yukon is over five metres long and just over two metres wide. In tight Marina and mall multi-storey bays it's a careful, mirror-folding, take-your-time park, and some older car parks have height barriers that a tall SUV like this can graze, so watch the posted limits. Speed bumps and steep mall ramps are no trouble thanks to roughly 203 mm of clearance, and the same clearance is what makes a graded Hatta track or a firm desert approach comfortable.

On the open road it comes into its own. Cruising the E11 at speed, fully loaded, it's stable and quiet, and the four-wheel drive gives confidence on a sandy weekend turnoff. Just remember Salik tolls are charged to you as the renter, and any RTA fines during the rental are passed on too. Children under four need a proper child seat by law, and there's ample room to fit them across the rear rows.

The verdict

Rent the Yukon when the job genuinely needs it: a big family, a group airport haul, a towing or Hatta weekend, or any week where three usable rows and highway cruising muscle outweigh everything else. It's the right tool for a full load over long distances.

If your week is mostly errands and tight tower parking, size down to a midsize SUV that slips into any bay and sips fuel. And if you want the same three rows wrapped in plusher materials and a quieter, more pampered cabin, a luxury seven-seater will feel more special, though it won't haul or tow any better. For pure space, capability and command of the road at a sensible rental, the Yukon is hard to beat.
