Gmc Yukon 2024 - start from 725 AED / day

Before anyone rents a GMC Yukon 2024, the question worth settling first is whether you'll actually use the size, because a full-size V8 SUV is a wonderful thing to drive and an expensive one to feed if the cabin sits half empty. We deliver it across Dubai in one to two hours, fuelled and ready, so the size never means a trek to a rental desk. This is body-on-frame, three-row, V8 machinery, a different category from the family seven-seaters it shares a showroom with. The honest argument here is fit: rent it when the job genuinely needs the space and the muscle, and skip it when it doesn't. Get that match right and little else in a rental fleet does the work as comfortably.

Fuel, and the running cost to plan for

Start with the number people underestimate. A 5.3-litre V8 hauling a heavy SUV drinks, and there's no dressing that up, so expect roughly 13 to 14 litres per 100 km in mixed Dubai driving, more in heavy stop-start with the AC working hard. The flip side is the tank: at around 91 litres it gives a realistic range near 650 km, so you're filling maybe once or twice across a normal week rather than daily. Dubai petrol is cheap by global standards, which softens the blow considerably compared with almost anywhere else. Even so, this is the thirstiest car you can rent for everyday running, and if your week is short city errands you'll be burning fuel to move an empty cabin. The Yukon makes sense when the fuel is doing real work, carrying people and loads over distance.

The V8, towing and the highway

The 5.3-litre V8 makes 355 hp through a 10-speed automatic, and four-wheel drive puts it down. Fully loaded with eight aboard and a roof of luggage, it still gathers speed without fuss and cruises the E11 relaxed with plenty in reserve for an overtake. It tows without complaint if you're pulling a trailer to a desert camp, and the four-wheel-drive system gives grip the road-only crossovers can't match on a graded Hatta track or a firm sandy turnoff. This is where the running cost stops feeling like waste: when the car is genuinely carrying weight over distance, the muscle and the stability are exactly what you're paying for.

Space for eight, and the luggage with them

This is the Yukon's strongest card. The third row seats adults properly rather than as a token bench, so two grown passengers can ride back there on an airport run without complaint. With all eight seats up there's around 720 litres behind the last row, enough to collect a full group from DXB with their cases at the same time, which the compact seven-seaters simply can't manage. Fold the rear rows for a smaller party and the load bay turns enormous, swallowing a week's family luggage plus the bulky extras most cars make you leave behind. If your week genuinely involves a crowd and their gear together, nothing in the family-SUV bracket comes close.

Parking and living with the size

The honest catch is the footprint. At 5334 mm long and over two metres wide, the Yukon is a lot of vehicle for Dubai's tighter spaces. The snug bays in older Marina towers, the steep multi-storey ramps and U-turns all need planning, and some older car parks have height barriers a tall SUV like this can graze, so watch the posted limits. The high seating and good visibility help, and the parking aids take the edge off, but you'll always be aware of the length. Speed bumps and mall ramps are no trouble with roughly 203 mm of clearance, which is also what makes a firm desert approach comfortable. If your week is all underground city parking, this is more car than the job needs.

Cooling a cabin this size

An eight-seat cabin is a large volume of air to chill, and Dubai summers sit in the mid-40s, so the AC has real work after the car has baked in a car park. Give it a few minutes with the fans up before everyone piles in. The payoff is dedicated rear vents that genuinely reach the second and third rows, so the people furthest from the dash aren't left sweltering while the front stays cool. For a full load of passengers in summer, that rear reach is the feature that actually matters. A couple of local rules sit with you as the renter: Salik tolls are charged to you as you pass the gantries, RTA fines during the rental pass to you, and children under four need a child seat, which there's ample room to fit across the rear rows.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Yukon 2024 when the job needs it: a big family, a group airport haul, a towing or Hatta weekend, or any week where three usable rows and highway cruising muscle outweigh everything else. For that work the V8 power and genuine eight-seat space are exactly right, and doorstep delivery makes the size easy to take on.

If your week is mostly errands and tight tower parking, size down to a mid-size SUV that slips into any bay and sips fuel by comparison. And if you want three rows in a plusher, quieter cabin, a luxury seven-seater will feel more special, though it won't haul or tow any better. The Yukon is for when you genuinely need the size. Match it to that and the running cost stops being a worry and starts being money well spent.
