The GMC Yukon 2023 earns its keep at Dubai International more than anywhere else. A flight lands, six or seven people come through arrivals with a trolley of hard cases, and the usual answer is two taxis and an argument over who rides with which bag. We can have this Yukon waiting at the terminal or delivered to your villa or hotel within one to two hours of booking, already fuelled and ready. It's a genuine three-row SUV, not a five-seat crossover with a fold-out bench added as an afterthought, and that's really what this page settles: whether your group and your luggage need all of that room, or whether you'd be paying to move space nobody sits in.

GM fits this generation of Yukon with a 5.3-litre V8 making 355 hp and 519 Nm of torque, sent through a ten-speed automatic to four-wheel drive. Some listings call it all-wheel drive. GMC's own material calls the system four-wheel drive, and that's the term to use here. Moving close to two and a half tonnes takes real power, and the V8 has it in reserve rather than working hard for it. Merging onto Sheikh Zayed Road or overtaking a slower truck near the airport needs one press of the pedal, not a downshift and a pause.
The bigger change for this fifth generation is the independent rear suspension GMC swapped in for the old solid axle. It shows up as a settled, controlled ride over expansion joints and speed bumps rather than the floaty, truck-like motion older Yukons were known for. It's not trying to be a sports SUV, and it's not built for dunes either. Four-wheel drive here is for a graded track, a wet road or a firm beach, not low-range crawling. If the plan is real sand, a Nissan Patrol with proper low range is the better tool for that job.
This is a genuine seven-seater, eight if you ask for a bench in place of the middle captain's chairs, and the third row is where the Yukon separates itself from most SUVs its size. That independent rear suspension frees up real foot space behind the second row, so adults can sit back there for the length of an airport run or a trip up the coast without folding their knees into their chest. Cars in this segment often treat the third row as somewhere to put children for twenty minutes. This one treats it as an actual seat.
Cargo is the number to plan around before you book. Behind the third row you get 722 litres, enough for a full set of hard cases from an arrivals hall without touching the rear seats. Fold that row down and it opens to roughly 2,056 litres, and drop the middle row too and you're close to 3,480. The honest limit shows up when every seat and every case is in play at once: seven passengers with seven full-size suitcases will still have someone tucking a soft bag into a footwell. This is the standard-length Yukon rather than the longer XL, and for most groups with normal luggage that's the right size. If your trip means seven people and seven hard cases travelling together every day, the XL carries meaningfully more behind its third row.
Black paint holds more heat than a lighter colour, and on a car parked in an open lot through a Dubai afternoon that matters more than most renters think. The Yukon's answer is a cabin large enough and a system strong enough to handle it. Give the front vents a few minutes after you climb back in on a hot day and the temperature drops fast, and rear passengers get their own vents rather than whatever drifts back from the dashboard. It's not instant, but it doesn't lag behind smaller cars either.
Running a V8 this size costs what you'd expect. The official combined figure is 13.8 litres per 100 km, and a week of real Dubai city driving with the AC working hard tends to land closer to 16 or 17. The 91-litre tank still buys a decent stretch between stops, so you're not stopping every day, but budget for fuel as a genuine line item over a longer rental. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your booking get charged back to you, same as any car here. At 5,331 mm long, tight multi-storey bays and the steeper Marina ramps ask for the reversing camera and a bit of patience, though the roughly 203 mm of ground clearance means speed bumps and mall ramps don't register.
Book the GMC Yukon 2023 if you're moving a group with real luggage: a family flying in for a week, relatives arriving for a reunion, or a party of six to eight who'd otherwise need two cars. That combination, a third row adults can actually sit in plus a boot that swallows a full airport run, is what this class of SUV is supposed to deliver and often doesn't. If the badge doesn't matter to you, a Chevrolet Tahoe shares the same platform and V8 for less money. If the whole point of the trip is dunes rather than a firm track, a Nissan Patrol with low-range gearing suits that brief better than a road-biased Yukon.
Size down if it's one or two of you running errands around the city. You'd be parking a five-metre SUV and feeding a V8 for room and mileage you won't use, and a mid-size crossover handles the same trips for less fuel and far less trouble finding a bay. Your allowance is 250 km a day, then AED 0.5 for every kilometre past that, and you'll need to be at least 25 to collect the keys. A deposit may apply on a vehicle this size, so this isn't a no-deposit booking.
