If the badge doesn't matter and the budget does, a Chevrolet Tahoe covers most of the same ground for less, and if the plan involves real dunes rather than a firm track, a Nissan Patrol is built for that in a way this Yukon isn't.

Skip it if it's one or two of you running errands around the city. You'll be parking a five-metre SUV and feeding a V8 for space and mileage you won't come close to using, and a mid-size crossover does that job for a lot less.
