Orange is the colour most people picture when someone says the word Mustang, more than red or black ever manage. This Ford Mustang 2022 convertible on our Dubai fleet comes in exactly that shade, roof up or down, and it draws looks nothing else on the fleet matches. We deliver it to your hotel, home or the airport within one to two hours of booking. Ford sold this generation here with two different engines under one badge, so which one you're getting is the first thing worth confirming before you commit to a week in it. That question, and what this convertible is really like to live with in Dubai, is what the rest of this page settles.
Two very different cars can turn up wearing this badge and this exact shade of orange. The base engine is a 2.3-litre turbocharged four making about 310 hp, enough for 0-100 km/h in around 5.5 seconds and a genuinely quick car by any ordinary measure. Step up to the 5.0-litre V8 in the GT and you get about 450 hp, the same sprint done in roughly 4.3 seconds, plus an idle and a pull the four-cylinder was never built to match. Both send power to the rear wheels through the same 10-speed automatic. There has never been an all-wheel-drive Mustang, whatever a listing elsewhere might suggest, so treat the throttle carefully on a wet road or a painted lane marking until you've learned where the back end lets go. Ask which engine is actually on the car before you pay, because the gap between them is the gap between a quick convertible and a proper sports car.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Engine | 2.3 L turbo four, or 5.0 L V8 GT (confirm which) |
| Power | About 310 hp (four) / about 450 hp (V8) |
| 0-100 km/h | About 5.5 s (four) / about 4.3 s (V8) |
| Transmission | 10-speed automatic |
| Drive | Rear-wheel drive |
| Seats | 4 (2+2) |
| Boot | About 323 litres |
| Fuel tank | Around 61 litres |
| Dimensions (L x W) | 4,789 x 1,916 mm |
| Ground clearance | About 131 mm |
| Colour | Orange |
Read the four seats as two plus storage. The Mustang is a 2+2, and the rear bench suits a jacket, a couple of shopping bags or a child for a short hop, not adults expecting to stretch out afterward. Up front, two people get a low, well-shaped seat and proper room, which is really what this car is built around.
The boot holds about 323 litres, less than the fixed-roof Mustangs on our fleet carry, because the folding top needs somewhere to live when it's down. It still takes a large case and a soft bag, or a sensible two-person airport run, and dropping the roof costs you nothing extra back there since the soft top stows into its own well rather than eating into the boot. What deserves more care is the height off the ground. Ground clearance sits around 131 mm, low enough that a steep hotel ramp, a tight mall entrance or a sharp speed bump wants a slow, angled approach rather than a straight run at it.
Orange sits in the middle of the heat equation. It won't punish you at midday the way a black car does, but it's still a mid-tone that takes on more sun than a white car would, so expect the seats and the wheel to be warm rather than scalding when you climb back in. The roof matters more here than the paint. From roughly November through March you can drive open for most of the day, and it's one of the better ways to see the city. Once summer sets in, keep the top-down hours to early morning and after sunset, and never leave the roof folded on a car sitting in the sun at noon. With the roof up, the small cabin works in your favour: there's not much air to cool, so the front vents pull the temperature down within a couple of minutes once you're moving, while the rear barely gets any airflow at all, one more reason those back seats stay occasional.
Running cost depends on which engine you land. The four-cylinder returns roughly 9 to 10 litres per 100 km in mixed city driving, and with a tank of around 61 litres that clears well past 500 km between fills on a normal week of errands and evening drives on Sheikh Zayed Road. A V8 covering the same week burns noticeably more, so ask about the difference before you book if that matters to you. Both engines want premium fuel. Salik tolls and any RTA fines land on the renter, and seat belts are required in every seat regardless of who's sitting there.
Book this Mustang if you're one or two people who want the shape, the colour and an evening with the roof down, and you're happy to confirm the engine rather than assume it. It's a genuine head-turner that still handles daily errands, a DXB or DWC pickup and a mall run without complaint, provided you respect the low nose and take ramps at an angle.
Push for the V8 if the sound is the actual reason you want a Mustang, because the four-cylinder is a good car but it isn't why most people book this badge. Pass on both, or size up to a sedan or an SUV, if your week means four adults or a genuine pile of luggage, since the back seats and the firm ride will wear thin fast.
A few terms before you commit. The daily mileage allowance is 250 km, and every kilometre past that costs AED 0.5. You need to be at least 25 to take the keys. Being a sports convertible, it goes out against a refundable deposit confirmed when you book, not a no-deposit deal. Settle the engine question first, keep the party to two, and this orange convertible is one of the better-looking ways to spend a week in this city.
