One question settles a Chevrolet Tahoe 2024 rental in Dubai: do you need seven seats and everyone's luggage in the car at the same time? Answer yes and this is one of the few vehicles we hand over that manages both without folding anything away. Answer no, and a smaller seven-seater will do the same week for roughly a third of the fuel. Every booking with us includes 300 km a day, which is worth knowing on a car that covers ground this easily, and we bring it to you rather than making you collect it. Get that first call right and the Tahoe earns its keep.
722 litres sit behind the third row with all seven seats in use. Check that number against every rival before you book, because it is where most three-row SUVs come undone. Four large checked cases stand upright back there with soft bags packed around them, so a family of six lands at DXB and rides home in one car with nobody nursing a suitcase on their knees. A seven-seat crossover with 200 litres behind the last row cannot do that, which is why groups end up paying for two vehicles and two drivers.
Fold the third row and the floor opens to roughly 2,050 litres, which is furniture-run or camping-kit territory. Most renters never need it. The 722 is the number that decides the booking.
Seven rather than eight means two individual chairs in the middle row instead of a three-place bench, with a walkway between them to the back. The Gulf car comes both ways, so if you need eight belts specifically, say so when you book rather than assuming.
The third row is the part worth being precise about. On a 3,071 mm wheelbase it is a proper seat, not the token perch you get in a compact seven-seater, and an adult can sit there for a run to DWC without folding themselves in half. Two grown passengers back there for an hour is fine. Three is a school-run arrangement, not an airport one.
Cooling matters more here than in any small car, because you are chilling a very large volume of air. After the Tahoe has sat in an open car park through a July afternoon, the front vents pull the dash area down quickly, but the rear takes longer. There are dedicated outlets for the second and third rows, and that reach is what decides whether your back-seat passengers are comfortable or quietly suffering. Run the fans for two or three minutes before you load people in summer.

This is the thirstiest thing on our fleet and there is no soft way to put it. The official combined figure is about 13.8 litres per 100 km. In real Dubai use, meaning stop-start on Al Khail with the AC working against 45 degrees, plan for 15 or 16.
Turn that into a week. A typical Dubai rental week runs 700 to 900 km once you add school runs, a couple of airport trips and one longer drive. At those rates you are buying somewhere between 100 and 140 litres, so you will fill the 91-litre tank twice, maybe stretching to a third splash if you go out to Hatta. Petrol is cheap here compared with most places, which takes real sting out of the arithmetic, but the same week in a mid-size crossover costs you around 45 litres. That gap is the price of the space, and it is only good value when the space is doing work.
The included 300 km a day is generous for this car and most groups stay inside it. Beyond that it is AED 0.5 per extra kilometre, which is the cheap part of a long day out compared with what the engine drinks.
On the E11 the Tahoe is close to effortless. 519 Nm through a 10-speed automatic means a full load of seven and a boot of cases barely changes how it pulls up a slip road, and at 120 it sits quiet and flat. Long drives out towards Al Ain or Hatta are where the running cost stops feeling like waste.
Then you arrive somewhere. At 5,352 mm long and 2,057 mm wide, this car is a problem in older multi-storey car parks. Marina tower bays are cut for sedans, several of the ramps are tight enough that you will use full lock and the camera, and a standard 2.0 m height barrier leaves very little air above a 1,925 mm roof. Newer mall parking is fine. If your week is mostly older residential and downtown parking, this is the wrong car regardless of how many seats you need. Speed bumps and mall ramps never trouble it, with 203 mm underneath.
Four-wheel drive gives it grip on a graded track out to a desert camp, and it will do a firm sandy approach without drama. Soft dune driving is a different sport that needs deflated tyres and experience, so treat that as out of scope on a rental. Salik charges and any RTA fines during your rental come back to you, belts are required in all three rows, and under-fours need a child seat, which there is plenty of room to fit here.
Rent the Tahoe 2024 when the job is a full group and its luggage together: a family of six or seven arriving at DXB, a corporate pickup where clients travel in one car, or a long highway weekend where three usable rows and a huge boot beat everything else. For that work almost nothing else in the fleet comes close, and the fuel is paying for something real.
Size down if your group is four or fewer, if you can fold the third row for luggage anyway, or if your week lives in older underground parking. A mid-size SUV will cost you a third of the fuel and slip into any bay. Matched to the right job, though, the Tahoe is the easiest car in Dubai to spend a week in.
