Booking the Chevrolet Tahoe 2022 in Dubai gets you a full-size, three-row SUV at an older-year rate, and we can have it at your door in one to two hours rather than making you trek to a counter. This is the all-wheel-drive 5.3 V8 with seven seats, which makes it the cheap way to move a whole group and a week of bags in one vehicle instead of two. The single decision this page settles is whether you actually need this much truck. If you fill the seats and the boot, the maths works. If it's three of you on city errands, it won't, and we'll be straight about that below.
A cabin this large is the real test of any AC in July, so it's worth dealing with first. Leave the Tahoe parked in the sun at 45 degrees and it comes back genuinely hot, no two ways about it. The saving grace is that all three rows get their own vents, so once the system catches up nobody in the back is left baking while the driver is fine. Start it, set the fans high, and give it a few minutes before you load kids into the third row. Park in a basement or under shade where you can, because there's a lot of glass to heat up. Once it's down to temperature it holds a big interior comfortably for a long run to the airport or out to Hatta.
Seven seats here are proper seats, not a fold-down apology behind the boot. Two adults sit in the third row without their knees up by their ears, which is what separates a full-size SUV from a crossover pretending to be one. Behind that back row you still get a usable boot, and drop the rearmost seats and the floor turns cavernous.
For an airport pickup this is the rare SUV that takes a full party and their cases in one trip. Four or five people with large suitcases, or seven travelling light with carry-ons and a couple of checked bags up front, all fit. Push to seven adults each with a big case plus trolleys and even the Tahoe fills up, at which point you fold one section of the third row for the overflow. If your group is four or fewer and packing light, you're paying to carry empty seats, and a mid-size SUV will cost less to run.

There's no dressing this up: a 5.3 V8 hauling more than two and a half tonnes drinks. Plan on roughly 13.8 litres per 100km on a sensible mix, and worse in stop-and-go Sheikh Zayed Road traffic with the AC fighting the heat. The flip side is the 91-litre tank, which gives a comfortable range of around 650km, so a normal Dubai week of errands plus a couple of longer drives means filling up once or maybe twice rather than every other morning. Fuel here is cheap by global standards, which softens it. But if low running cost is your priority, you already know the Tahoe is the wrong tool.
This is the part to be clear-eyed about. At over five metres long and wide with it, the Tahoe is hard work in the tighter spots. The spiral ramps in older Marina towers and packed mall basements ask for patience, you'll hunt for end bays near the lift cores, and reversing into a standard slot leans on the cameras. Speed bumps and mall ramp lips are a non-issue with this much clearance, but U-turns and narrow older streets want room the car can't shrink to give.
On the open road it's a different vehicle. Sheikh Zayed Road and the E11 are its habitat, where the V8 cruises at speed with the family settled and an overtake never feels like a project. Long transfers to DXB or out to DWC are quiet and easy. Two practical notes: Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental are billed to you, and a child under four needs a proper seat, which the back rows have plenty of space to fit.
The AWD badge tempts people toward the dunes. Don't read too much into it. This is a comfort-tuned family hauler on road-set suspension, not a low-range off-roader, and soft sand will catch it out quickly. What the all-wheel drive actually buys you is surer footing on a graded desert track, a sandy resort approach, or a wet ramp, not the ability to play in the dunes. For real off-road driving you want a proper 4x4 with low range, the right tyres deflated, recovery kit, and a second vehicle. Treat the Tahoe as a highway and city machine that shrugs off speed bumps and it won't let you down.
Rent the Tahoe 2022 if you're moving a real group: a large family, a set of friends sharing one car, or anyone running an airport shuttle for several people with luggage. At an older-year rate it's the cheapest way to do all of that in a single vehicle, and the space and highway calm are worth the fuel bill.
Skip it if you're two or three people on mostly city driving. You'll fight the size in every car park and pay a V8's fuel cost to carry air, so a mid-size SUV, or a sedan if luggage is light, will be easier and cheaper all week. The Tahoe earns its keep when the seats and the boot are full, and not much before that.
