Few rentals turn heads on Sheikh Zayed Road the way a red Camaro does, and that's the whole point of putting one on your week in Dubai. We can have the Chevrolet Camaro 2022 at your door in 1 to 2 hours, keys in hand, ready for the coast road. This is a convertible you rent for how it looks and feels, not for errands. So this page is honest about the trade: the presence, the drop-top theatre and the 275 hp punch are real, and so are the tiny rear seats, the modest boot and the fuel bills. If the look is the reason you're booking, it delivers.
The Camaro here is the 2.0-litre turbo four, automatic, rear-wheel drive, with 275 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. On paper a four-cylinder muscle car sounds like a contradiction. In practice it pulls hard, the 0 to 100 km/h run takes about 5.5 seconds, and with the roof down at 80 km/h along the Marina or out toward the Palm it sounds and feels like an event. Nobody clocks the cylinder count from the pavement. They see a low, wide American coupe in red, and that's exactly what most people rent it for.
The four-cylinder is also the sensible half of the bargain. It's lighter over the nose than the V8 cars and far cheaper to feed. You give up the V8 roar, but for cruising and being seen, the turbo four does the job without draining your card at every petrol stop.

A drop-top in a city that hits the high 40s is a planning job, not a problem. Park a Camaro in the open at midday and the cabin bakes, and with the roof up the dark interior holds that heat hard. The AC is strong once it's running, and with the relatively small two-plus-two cabin it pulls a parked car down to comfortable in a few minutes rather than the slow crawl you get in a big SUV. The trick is the same one every local knows: drop the roof for the first stretch to dump the hot air, then close it and let the AC do clean work. Roof down after dark, when it cools off, is when the car makes the most sense anyway.
This is a wide car, just under 1.9 metres across, and it sits low. Both facts matter in Dubai more than the horsepower does. In a tight Marina multi-storey or an older mall bay, the width eats your door-opening room and the long doors don't help. Rear visibility out of a Camaro is poor, so lean on the camera and take the wider end spaces when you can.
The ride height is the bigger daily nuisance. Dubai speed bumps and steep mall ramps are unforgiving to a low coupe, and you'll be crawling over the aggressive ones at an angle to save the front lip. It's manageable once you know the car, but it's a genuine change of pace from a crossover.
Where the Camaro earns its keep is the open road. On the E11 it's stable, quick to overtake and happy to sit at the limit all day, and that turbo four has real shove from low revs for slotting into fast traffic. It's a confident highway cruiser and a good airport-run car for two people travelling light.
Be clear-eyed about fuel. A 19-gallon tank and real-world economy around 10 to 11 litres per 100 km means you're not filling up constantly, but enthusiastic driving with the roof down drinks more than the brochure suggests. Petrol is cheap here, so it stays affordable, just don't expect economy-car frugality from something built to look like this.
A few standing Dubai rules apply to any rental. Salik toll gates bill to the car, so those crossings land on you. Any RTA speeding fine or camera ticket passes to the renter too, and the limits are enforced hard, so a fast car asks for a disciplined right foot. Seatbelts are mandatory for everyone on board.
Rent the Camaro if you want the look and the feel: a weekend cruiser, a photo car, a special occasion, two people who want the roof down on a cool evening run. For that, it's one of the best-value statement rentals in the city, and a four-cylinder convertible that still looks every bit the muscle car.
Don't rent it as a practical week's transport. The rear seats are an emergency perch, not real seats, the boot swallows a couple of soft bags rather than hard cases, and four adults with luggage simply won't work. If you need to carry people and bags, size up to a sedan or SUV. If you're chasing the loudest engine, the V8 cars exist for that. But if presence is the brief and the budget is the four-cylinder, this is the one to book.
