We hand over the Cadillac Escalade 2024 to your door in Dubai within one to two hours of booking, which matters more than it sounds when you've got a flight landing or a wedding party waiting. This is the full-size American land yacht: a 6.2-litre V8, seven seats with a third row people will actually sit in, and a curved dashboard screen that runs nearly the width of the cabin. We rent it across the city for big families, hotel and event runs, and the kind of long, quiet highway miles where its size turns into comfort. The honest question this page settles is whether you need something this large, or whether a smaller luxury SUV does the job for less fuel.
The Escalade is a body-on-frame full-size SUV, not a tall hatchback pretending to be one. It sits high and wide, and an air suspension smooths out Dubai's expansion joints and speed bumps better than almost anything in its class. The 6.2 V8 makes 420 hp through a 10-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, so 0 to 100 comes up in about 6.6 seconds. You rarely use that, but the reserve means overtaking a slow truck on the E11 is a flat throttle press, not a project.
Inside is where the money shows. The seats are broad and soft, the third row reclines and has real legroom rather than being a token bench, and the cabin stays quiet enough at 120 that front-to-back conversation still works.

This is the Escalade's strongest answer. Seven adults travel without anyone drawing the short straw, and the third row folds flat when you don't need it. With all three rows up you still get around 26 cubic feet behind the back seats, which swallows four or five medium cases or a stroller and a week's shopping. Drop the third row and it turns into a moving van.
For a family of five or six heading to a desert resort with a week's luggage, nothing else we rent does it this easily. Two adults and two kids will rattle around in here, which is the point at which you should ask whether you actually need it.
Honestly, often. The V8 drinks. Plan for around 14 to 15 litres per 100 km in mixed Dubai driving, and worse in stop-and-start traffic with the AC fighting 45-degree heat. The 91-litre tank gives you roughly 600 km of real-world range, so on a normal week of city errands and a couple of airport runs you'll be at the pump every three or four days. A long highway day settles things down a little. Just don't rent this expecting economy. That isn't what it's for.
Dubai summers sit in the high 40s, and a black SUV parked in the sun is an oven when you open the door. The Escalade handles it as well as anything we hand out. Three rows of vents mean the back two rows cool down properly, not just the front, and a baked cabin comes down to comfortable in a few minutes rather than the slow crawl you get in smaller cars. Rear passengers get their own controls, so kids in the third row aren't left to bake while the front stays frozen.
You can't ignore that this thing is 5.38 metres long and over two metres wide. In multi-storey mall car parks and tight Marina bays you'll use the 360-degree camera constantly and think twice before some U-turns. It's not a car you fling down a residential side street. On Sheikh Zayed Road and the open highways, though, the size disappears and it turns relaxing, stable at speed and unbothered by crosswinds.
Speed bumps and mall ramps are no problem with 203 mm of clearance and the air suspension soaking up the worst of them. A couple of things to keep in mind: Salik tolls run on your account and pass to you, and any RTA fines during the rental are yours to settle. Seat belts are mandatory in every row, and children under four need a proper child seat, which is worth sorting before delivery given how many seats this car has.
Rent the Escalade if you're moving six or seven people, doing hotel and event runs where presence counts, or putting in long comfortable highway miles with a full load. For that job it's the obvious choice in Dubai and nothing smaller matches the space or the ride.
Skip it if it's two or three of you doing city driving. You'll pay for a V8's thirst and wrestle a very large vehicle into small bays for space you never use. A mid-size luxury SUV will be cheaper to fuel, easier to park, and just as comfortable for a smaller group. The Escalade earns its keep when it's full, and feels like a lot of car when it isn't. Note that stricter security terms can apply on a vehicle in this class, so confirm the details at booking.
