Cadillac Escalade 2024 - start from 1,077 AED / day

Most Dubai rental desks want you at least 21 behind the wheel of anything this size, and a lot ask for 25 once the badge says Cadillac. We hand over the Cadillac Escalade 2024 in Dubai to anyone who's 18, which is the detail that decides more bookings than people expect for a car this large. We deliver it to your hotel, villa or terminal, usually within one to two hours. The age limit is the headline, but the real question a week's rental settles is whether seven seats, the boot behind them and a two-and-a-half-tonne V8's running costs actually suit your trip, whoever's holding the license.

A flagship SUV you can book from 18

Eighteen is unusual for a car like this. Most companies renting anything with a badge this prominent and a 5.4-metre body ask for 21 as a floor, some for 25. We don't, so a younger driver with a full license and a genuine reason, a wedding, a graduation, a family trip, can book the flagship years before most desks would even discuss it. The deposit still applies, and it's refundable, but the age gate that stops people elsewhere isn't here.

What you're actually driving is a full-size American luxury SUV built on the same GM platform as the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, with Cadillac's own cabin, screen and grille over the top. The 6.2-litre V8 makes 420 hp and 623 Nm through a ten-speed automatic, sending drive to all four wheels, and it carries close to two and a half tonnes without strain on Sheikh Zayed Road. A Tahoe gets you nearly the same space and the same engine for less money if the badge doesn't matter to you. A Mercedes GLS drives with more polish but a tighter third row. Short of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, nothing else in Dubai pairs this much presence with seven real seats, at an age most rental desks won't even discuss.

Seven seats, and where the cargo actually goes

Seven seats are why most people book an Escalade in the first place, laid out as two captain's chairs in the middle row and a three-person bench across the back. The third row is the pleasant surprise. On most seven-seat SUVs it's built for kids and merely tolerated by adults. Here the middle chairs slide forward and tip out of the way on their own, and legroom in the back is close to what you'd find in a mid-size sedan, so nobody spends a drive across town with their knees up.

The boot is where you plan rather than assume. With all three rows up you get 722 litres behind the last bench, genuinely large for this class and enough for a proper airport run with cases for four or five people. Fold the third row and that opens to around 2,060 litres, and drop the middle chairs too and you're near 3,426. The honest limit is the one every standard-length three-row SUV shares: seven passengers and seven hard cases at once still means somebody's bag rides as a soft one in a footwell. This is the regular-wheelbase Escalade, not the longer ESV, so if your trip genuinely needs full seating and full luggage together on every leg, the ESV is the one built for that.

What the V8 costs, and how the size behaves in Dubai

The V8 is the honest price of all that space. Cadillac's own combined figure is 14.7 litres per 100 km, and real driving around Dubai, stop-start with the air conditioning working hard, tends to land closer to 17 or 18. The 91-litre tank buys a decent stretch between fills, but budget for it as a real weekly cost, and remember Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental are yours to cover.

Mileage works differently here than the daily allowance on a lot of our fleet. You get 5,000 km for the whole rental, not per day, then AED 0.5 for every kilometre past that. For a week that's generous, over 700 km a day on average if you used it all. Keep the car for a month instead and the maths flips: a 250 km daily allowance elsewhere would cover more total distance than this car's flat 5,000, so plan the route before an extended booking.

Heat and size are the other daily realities. The black interior sits hotter after a few hours in an open lot than a lighter one would, so budget a few real minutes before the front seats feel normal. The system earns that patience back once it's running, pulling the cabin down at a steady rate, with its own vents for the third row. At close to 5.4 metres long and just over two metres wide, threading a tight multi-storey without the reversing cameras on is asking for trouble, and Marina or Downtown ramps want patience more than confidence. The 203 mm of ground clearance shrugs off speed bumps and mall ramps without a thought, but it's a comfort figure for the road, not an invitation to go looking for tracks out past the city.

Who this fits, and who's paying for space they won't use

Book the Cadillac Escalade 2024 if you're moving six or seven people with real luggage, or if arriving in something this size is actually part of the trip, a wedding, a graduation, a corporate pickup. The age policy widens who can make that booking. A 19 or 20-year-old planning a family trip or a group airport run doesn't need to wait years for most desks to let them near the keys. If every leg needs seven seats and seven hard cases together, step up to the longer ESV instead of assuming this one stretches that far. If the badge doesn't matter, a Tahoe covers the same space and the same engine for less, and if a quieter, more composed drive matters more than cabin drama, a GLS suits you better.

Skip it if it's one or two of you running errands around the city. You'll spend the week parking a five-metre SUV and feeding a V8 for space nobody's using, whatever age is on your license. This is a premium rental, and a refundable deposit applies. There's no no-deposit route on a car like this. Your allowance is 5,000 km for the whole rental, then AED 0.5 for every kilometre past that, and you only need to be 18 to collect the keys.
