At close to 5.4 metres nose to tail and just over two metres across, squeezing into a cramped multi-storey bay or nosing up a Marina tower ramp works better with the cameras on than with confidence alone. The roughly 203 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and steep mall ramps without drama, but that's ride height for paved roads, not a reason to go looking for sand tracks out near Hatta. This is a highway cruiser built to arrive well, not a car built to explore off it.

Seven seats laid out properly, and what the boot holds behind them

Seven seats are laid out as two captain's chairs in the middle row and a three-person bench across the back, and the third row is the part that actually separates the Escalade from a cheaper seven-seater. If the badge matters less than the space, a Chevrolet Tahoe shares the same platform and the same V8 for meaningfully less money. If a quieter, more polished European drive matters more than presence, a Mercedes GLS gets you there, though its third row is tighter and less comfortable for adults. If every leg of your trip needs seven seats and seven full cases together, step up to the longer ESV rather than assuming this one stretches that far.

Pick something else if it's one or two of you running errands around the city, or if your itinerary is full of open-ended, unplanned driving. A five-metre SUV is a lot of car to park for a job a mid-size crossover handles on a fraction of the fuel, and unplanned mileage is exactly where that AED 5 rate turns expensive.
