A family of seven clears arrivals at DXB with the trolleys stacked two cases high, grandparents included, and one car has to take the whole group and their luggage straight to the hotel without a second trip back to the terminal. That is the exact job the Cadillac Escalade 2023 handles better than almost anything else you can rent in Dubai. We deliver it to your terminal, hotel or villa, usually within one to two hours of booking. What this page settles is whether the size earns its keep for your week: real seven-seat capacity with adults comfortable in the back row, a boot that takes a full group's cases, and a V8 that costs what you would expect for that much car.
Under that long bonnet sits a 6.2-litre V8 making 420 hp and 623 Nm, sent through a ten-speed automatic to all four wheels. Cadillac has run this exact powertrain across the whole fifth-generation Escalade, and it moves close to two and a half tonnes with no visible strain. On Sheikh Zayed Road it settles into a quiet, unhurried cruise and always has an overtake in hand, so the size never feels like it is working against you at speed.
Adaptive air suspension is standard on this generation, and it does real work over Dubai's expansion joints and uneven overpasses, ironing out hits that would rattle a cheaper body-on-frame SUV. It rides more like a limousine than a truck, which is the point of paying for one.
Seven seats are laid out as two captain's chairs in the middle row and a three-person bench across the back, and the third row is the part that decides whether this car actually solves the airport problem in the opening. Most seven-seat SUVs hand the last row to kids and make adults endure it for twenty minutes. Here, grandparents get a seat with real legroom rather than a fold-down perch behind the wheel arch, and the middle chairs slide and tip forward on their own, so nobody climbs over a folded seat to reach the back.
Luggage is where you plan rather than guess. With all three rows up you get 722 litres behind the last bench, enough for a full group's checked cases on the drive in from the airport. Fold the third row and that opens to about 2,060 litres, and drop the middle chairs too and you are near 3,426. The honest limit is the one every standard-length three-row SUV runs into. Seven passengers and seven hard cases at the same time will still have someone's bag riding as a soft one on a lap. This is the regular-wheelbase Escalade, not the longer ESV, so if your group needs full seating and full luggage together on every leg of the trip, the ESV is the one built for that.

Day to day, the size asks for a bit of care. At close to 5.4 metres long and just over two metres wide, threading it into a tight multi-storey bay without the reversing cameras on is asking for trouble, and the ramps at Marina or Downtown want patience more than confidence. Around 203 mm of ground clearance shrugs off speed bumps and steep mall ramps without a second thought, but treat that as a comfort figure for city driving, not an invitation to go looking for tracks out past the city limits.
This one comes in black, worth knowing before you park it at 2pm in August. A dark cabin soaks up more heat through the roof and glass than a lighter one, so expect the seats and the wheel properly hot for the first few minutes after you climb back in, not instantly cool. Once the system catches up, the size stops being a problem. It pulls two and a half tonnes of cabin down steadily, and rear passengers get their own vents, so the third row gets real cold air instead of whatever drifts back from the front.
The V8 is the price of all that room and presence. Cadillac's combined figure is 14.7 litres per 100 km, and real Dubai driving, stop-start with the air conditioning working hard, tends to land closer to 17 or 18. The 91-litre tank still buys a decent stretch between fills, but budget for the fuel as a genuine weekly cost rather than an afterthought. Salik tolls during the rental are yours to cover, and any RTA fines that land while you are driving pass to you as the renter, not us.
Rent the Escalade 2023 if you are moving six or seven people with real luggage between them, whether that is the airport run in the opening or a wedding, a corporate transfer, or a big family week where arriving in something this size is part of the plan. Nothing else in Dubai short of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan pairs this much cabin with seven seats adults can actually use. If the badge does not matter to you, a Chevrolet Tahoe shares the same platform and the same V8 for meaningfully less money. If a smoother, quieter European drive matters more than the occasion, a Mercedes GLS gets you there, though its third row is tighter and less usable for adults.
Look elsewhere if it is one or two of you running errands around the city. You will spend the week parking a five-metre SUV and feeding a V8 for space nobody is using, when a mid-size crossover does the same job on a fraction of the fuel. As a premium rental the Escalade takes a refundable deposit rather than offering a no-deposit option. Your allowance is 250 km a day, then AED 0.5 for every kilometre past that, and you will need to be 25 to collect the keys.
