Cadillac Escalade 2022 - start from 868 AED / day

Most full-size luxury SUVs in Dubai set the floor at 25, and a few will let you in at 21 if you push. We hand over a Cadillac Escalade 2022 rental to anyone 21 and over, which puts a car this size and this badge within reach years earlier than most desks allow. We still deliver it to your hotel, villa or the airport within one to two hours of booking, but the age line is just the door opening. What actually decides the week is whether the 6.2-litre V8 costs what you expect, whether seven seats and the boot behind them fit your trip, and whether a five-metre SUV works with Dubai roads rather than against them.

What the 6.2 V8 feels like from behind the wheel

The Escalade runs Cadillac's 6.2-litre V8, 420 hp and 623 Nm through a ten-speed automatic sending drive to all four wheels. It carries close to two and a half tonnes without sounding stretched, settles into a quiet cruise on Sheikh Zayed Road, and passes a slower truck at 120 without needing a downshift you can feel. That's the number that matters more than the badge for anyone comparing this against a Tahoe or a Suburban underneath.

None of that makes it a car for tight gaps. Steering is light rather than precise, and the length announces itself the moment you're merging or hunting for a bay. Treat it as built for distance and comfort, not for threading needles, and it does exactly the job it's shaped for.

Room for seven, and what fits in the boot

Seven seats, two captain's chairs in the middle row and a three-person bench across the back, are why most renters pick an Escalade over a smaller SUV. The third row is the real strong point. Legroom back there is close to a mid-size sedan's rear seat rather than the knees-up bench most seven-seaters give you, and the middle chairs slide and tip forward on their own, so nobody climbs over a folded seat to get there.

Cargo is the part worth planning rather than assuming. With all three rows up, the boot holds about 722 litres, enough for four or five full-size cases stacked properly. A fifth passenger's bag starts eating into that margin, and a full group of seven with seven hard cases will have at least one bag riding as a soft one on someone's lap. Fold the third row and you're near 2,060 litres, drop the middle chairs too and you're close to 3,426. This is the standard-length Escalade, not the longer ESV, so if every leg of your trip needs seven adults and seven full cases together, the ESV is the one built for that. For six people with real luggage, or seven travelling lighter, the numbers work in your favour.

What a black cabin costs you in fuel and comfort

Black paint over a black interior is worth knowing before a July or August booking. Left in an open lot through the afternoon, the dashboard and seat leather run properly hot, and the first few minutes back inside are about waiting more than driving. The system earns that patience back once it catches up. It pulls a cabin this large down steadily, and the third row gets its own vents rather than whatever drifts back from the front, so a full group isn't split between comfortable and suffering.

Fuel is the honest weekly cost. Cadillac's combined figure is 14.7 litres per 100 km, and Dubai's stop-start traffic with the AC working through the heat tends to push real-world use toward 17 or 18. The 91-litre tank still buys a decent run between fills, around 600 km on a gentler mix, but budget it as a real line item, not an afterthought. Salik tolls collected during the rental are yours to settle, and any RTA fines that land while you're driving pass to you as well.

Size shapes the daily driving more than the engine does. At 5,382 mm long and 2,060 mm wide, a tight multi-storey bay in Marina or Downtown wants the cameras on and a bit of patience rather than confidence alone. The roughly 203 mm of ground clearance shrugs off speed bumps and mall ramps without drama, but that figure is for the road, not an invitation to go looking for tracks out past the city.

Who gets the most from this Escalade, and who should look at something else

The age policy is what actually widens the pool here. A 21 or 22-year-old planning a wedding pickup, a family trip or a group airport run doesn't need to wait years for most desks to even discuss a car like this. Book it if you're moving six or seven people with real luggage, or if arriving in something this size is genuinely part of the plan. If the badge isn't the point, a Chevrolet Tahoe shares the same platform and the same V8 for meaningfully less money. If a quieter, more composed drive matters more than cabin drama, a Mercedes GLS suits you better, though its third row is tighter. If every trip needs seven seats and seven hard cases together, step up to the longer ESV instead of assuming this one stretches that far.

Skip it if it's one or two of you running errands around the city. You'll spend the week parking a five-metre SUV and feeding a V8 for space nobody's using, whatever age is on the license. This is a premium rental, so a refundable deposit applies rather than a no-deposit option. Your allowance is 250 km a day, then AED 0.5 for every kilometre past that, and you'll need to be 21 to collect the keys.
