The BMW X7 2024 is the rare seven-seater you can rent in Dubai without locking up a deposit, since we offer no-deposit insurance and hand the car over at your door in one to two hours. That suits the trip it's built for: three rows of people heading somewhere together, in a cabin closer to a 7 Series than to a typical family SUV. The decision this page settles isn't whether the X7 is good. It's whether you actually need the third row and the long-distance calm it sells, because if you only ever carry four, you're paying for size you won't use.
This is where the X7 justifies itself over a five-seat luxury SUV. The back two seats are real seats, not a folding afterthought. Adults manage them for an airport collection or a dinner across town, and children are happy there even on the long run out to Abu Dhabi or Al Ain. Second-row passengers get the best of it, with proper legroom and their own climate zone, so nobody behind you is fighting for air on the highway.
The trade-off lives behind that third row. With all seven seats up, the boot holds two or three medium bags, fine for a day out or the shopping, not seven people's suitcases. Fold the back row and it turns into a huge load bay that takes four large cases plus a couple of medium ones. So seven people travel light, or five travel with everything. If you need all seven seats and full airport luggage on the same trip, a GMC Yukon or a Chevrolet Suburban has more room to give.

The engine is a 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo inline-six with a 48V mild-hybrid assist, around 375 horsepower through an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox and xDrive all-wheel drive. It reaches 100 km/h in roughly 5.8 seconds, which means overtaking on the E11 takes no planning at all. The mild-hybrid layer mostly shows up in traffic, where it smooths the restarts and trims a little fuel off the stop-and-go.
What sells the X7 on a long Dubai drive is composure. Sheikh Zayed Road sits flat and quiet under it, the air suspension absorbs the joints and bumps, and the cabin stays calm at 120 with seven aboard. A run to DXB or out to DWC passes without complaint from the back. The 221 mm of clearance on raised air suspension handles a graded desert track or a Hatta day, though this is a road-biased luxury SUV rather than a dune climber.
A cabin this large, with this much glass, turns into an oven after an hour parked in the sun at 45 degrees. The X7 pulls it back quickly. The climate system moves serious air, the front seats are comfortable within a few minutes of setting off, and dedicated rear vents mean the second and third rows cool down without waiting on the front. If the car you receive has cooled front seats fitted, leather in summer is far more bearable, but we can't guarantee a specific option, so check with the desk if it matters.
The 83-litre tank is what to think about for a week here. On a careful highway run the X7 will stretch toward 880 km, but real city use with the AC fighting the heat brings that down, so plan on filling up once or twice across a normal week. Fuel's cheap in Dubai, yet a car this big drinks accordingly, and that's worth weighing if budget is the priority.
Parking takes thought. At two metres wide and more than five long, the X7 needs care in tight Marina bays and on older mall ramps, and the surround cameras carry most of the load. On the open road that footprint feels planted; in a packed car park it's simply large. We include 250 km per day, with extra distance at 3 AED per km, so a week of long drives is worth mentioning when you book. Salik tolls and any RTA fines pass to the renter, and a child seat is required for under-fours, with belts mandatory in every row.
Rent the X7 2024 if you genuinely use the third row and value how it drives, a family of six or seven who want a quiet, quick, premium SUV for highway runs and airport pickups, and who can fold a seat when the cases pile up. On long Dubai drives, few seven-seaters feel this settled.
Pass on it if you only ever carry four or five, where a smaller crossover saves real money on the rental and the fuel for space you'll barely notice losing, or if you need seven full seats and a tall stack of hard luggage together, where a full-size Yukon or Suburban makes more sense. The X7 is the comfortable, fast way to move seven, and it doesn't pretend to be the cheap one.
