Most desks make you wait and leave a hold on your card before you can drive a car this size. We bring the BMW X7 2024 to your door in Dubai within one to two hours, no deposit needed, and you can pay on delivery by card, cash, or even Apple Pay. That changes the maths on a last-minute family trip. The real question this page answers is simpler than the badge suggests: this is a seven-seat luxury SUV that drives like a 7 Series, so the decision is whether you want that polish and pace, or whether the boot and the fuel bill push you toward a different kind of big car.
The X7 xDrive40i runs a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six with a 48V mild-hybrid system, putting out around 375 horsepower through an eight-speed automatic and BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive. It hits 100 km/h in about 5.8 seconds. For something this tall and heavy, that's properly quick, and the mild-hybrid setup smooths the stop-start crawl you'll do on Sheikh Zayed Road at rush hour.
What you notice first isn't the speed, though. It's how calm it stays. The air suspension flattens expansion joints and speed bumps, the cabin is quiet at 120, and the second row sits in real space with its own climate controls. If the people behind you are the reason you booked a seven-seater, that matters more than the 0 to 100 figure.
| Spec | BMW X7 2024 (xDrive40i) |

| Class / body | Luxury full-size SUV, 7-seater |
| Engine | 3.0L turbo inline-six + 48V mild hybrid |
| Power | approx. 375 hp |
| 0 to 100 km/h | approx. 5.8 seconds |
| Transmission | 8-speed automatic |
| Drive | All-wheel drive (xDrive) |
| Seats | 7 |

| Real-world economy | roughly 12 to 13 L/100km in mixed Dubai use |
| Dimensions (L x W x H) | 5,181 x 2,000 x 1,835 mm |
| Ground clearance | approx. 221 mm (air suspension) |
| Boot | small with all three rows up; large with the third row folded |
| Colour | White |
The third row here is usable, not a token. Two adults fit back there for an airport run or a night out, and kids are comfortable on the longer drive to Abu Dhabi. The catch is what's left behind them. With all three rows up, the boot takes two or three medium bags, roughly the weekly shop or a couple of soft holdalls, not seven hard cases.
So be honest with yourself about the trip. Seven people and a full set of suitcases won't go in together. Carry five or six and fold part of the third row, and the X7 opens up to a genuinely cavernous load bay that swallows four large cases plus more. If you truly need seven seats and a tall stack of airport luggage at the same time, a Chevrolet Suburban or a GMC Yukon gives you far more room behind the back row. The X7 trades outright cargo for the way it drives.
Park a dark, glass-heavy cabin this size in a mall lot at 45 degrees and it bakes hard. The X7 recovers faster than most. The climate system shifts a lot of air, the front seats cool within a few minutes of pulling away, and there are dedicated rear vents and controls so the second row isn't waiting on the front to feel relief. Some cars carry cooled front seats, which make a real difference on leather in July, but we can't promise a specific option on a given car, so ask the desk if it's a dealbreaker.
BMW's combined figure sits around 10.5 L/100km, but in real Dubai driving, with the AC working and a firm right foot on the E11, plan for closer to 12 to 13. The 83-litre tank still gives you roughly 650 km between fills, so a normal week of city running plus a couple of longer runs means filling up once, maybe twice. Petrol's cheap here, but this isn't the car to pick if the fuel bill is the thing you're watching.
Size is the daily reality. At two metres wide and over five long, the X7 is a deliberate park. Tight Marina bays and older mall ramps need care, the surround cameras do a lot of the work, and you'll reverse out of spaces others drive straight from. The 221 mm of clearance on air suspension clears every bump and handles a graded Hatta track, though this is a road-biased luxury SUV, not a dune machine.
Two quick local notes. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental pass to you, and a child seat is required by law for under-fours, with belts mandatory in all three rows. We charge 250 km per day, with extra distance billed at 4 AED per km, so a heavy week of long drives is worth flagging when you book.
Rent the X7 2024 if you want seven people moved in real comfort and you care how the car drives, not just how many it seats. It's the pick for a family that wants something quiet, quick, and genuinely premium for highway runs and airport pickups, and who can travel light enough to fold a seat for the cases.
Look elsewhere if you need all seven seats and a tall pile of hard luggage at once, where a Suburban or Yukon simply carries more, or if you only ever fill five seats and want to spend less on both the rental and the fuel, where a smaller seven-seat crossover does the school run for fewer dirhams. The X7 is the luxury answer, and it's honest about the price of being one.
