If you're collecting guests from DXB and want them to step out of something that says the trip was handled properly, the BMW X7 2023 is the seven-seater that pulls it off, and we deliver it across Dubai in 1 to 2 hours with a no-deposit plan available. This is a full-size luxury SUV built around a smooth mild-hybrid inline-six, with a second row that travels closer to a 7 Series than a school-run van. Rent it when the cabin experience is the point and you're happy to pay for it in fuel and parking effort. The one decision this page settles is whether you actually need seven full seats and a stack of hard cases at the same time, because that's the single place the X7 asks you to compromise.
The xDrive40i runs a 3.0-litre TwinPower turbo inline-six with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance, making 375 hp through an eight-speed Steptronic auto and xDrive all-wheel drive. It reaches 100 km/h in around 6.3 seconds, quick for something this tall and heavy, and on Sheikh Zayed Road it has the mid-range to overtake without a run-up. The mild-hybrid smooths the stop-start shuffle in traffic so the six never feels coarse. What passengers notice, though, is the calm: the air suspension irons out expansion joints and speed bumps, the cabin stays hushed at a 120 cruise, and the second row gets its own climate zone and proper vents. The people you booked the seven-seater for actually arrive comfortable.

The seven seats are usable rather than a brochure claim. The third row takes two adults for an airport run or a dinner across town, and it's fine for kids on the longer drive to Abu Dhabi. The limit is the boot behind it: 326 litres with all three rows up swallows soft bags or the weekly shop, not a wall of hard suitcases.
So the honest version is people or luggage at full count, rarely both. Carry five and fold the third row and the load space opens to 750 litres of usable, square boot. If you genuinely need all seven seats and a tall stack of hard cases on the same trip, a GLS or a full-size Yukon gives you more room behind the last row. The X7 spends its cargo budget on how it rides and how the cabin feels, and for most renters that's the right call.
City economy sits around 6 to 8.8 km/L, and honest Dubai use with the AC working and a heavy right foot on the highway lands near the thirstier end of that. The 83-litre tank still stretches to a highway range near 880 km, so a normal week of city driving plus a couple of longer runs means one fill, maybe two. Fuel is cheap here, but this isn't the car for someone counting every dirham of it.
Size is the daily cost you feel more often. At two metres wide and over five long, the X7 is a deliberate park. Tight Marina bays and older mall ramps want care, and you'll reverse out of spaces others drive straight out of. The surround cameras do a lot of the work, and on the open road that width feels planted rather than awkward. In a packed car park it's simply a big car, and you should book it knowing that.
A dark cabin this size bakes after an hour in a mall car park at 45 degrees, and the X7 recovers faster than most. The multi-zone climate moves a lot of air, the front seats cool within a few minutes, and the rear vents with their own controls mean the second row isn't waiting on the front. If the car you receive has cooled seats fitted, the difference on leather in July is real, though we can't promise a specific option on a given car, so ask the desk if it matters to you.
On the highway the X7 is in its element. Airport runs to DXB or DWC pass without a complaint from the back, and for a Hatta day the air suspension lifts clearance to around 221 mm, plenty for graded tracks. It's a road-biased luxury SUV, not a dune machine, so leave the soft sand to a dedicated 4x4. Two quick local notes: Salik tolls and any RTA fines run through the rental to you, and child seats are required for under-fours with belts mandatory in every row.
Book it if you care how a seven-seater drives and how its cabin feels, not just how many bodies it holds, and you want a quiet, quick, genuinely premium SUV for highway runs and guest pickups where family can travel on soft bags or fold a seat for the cases. For that renter, little in the class feels this complete.
Look sideways if you need seven full seats and a tall pile of hard luggage at once, where a GLS or a Yukon makes more sense on space alone. And if you only ever carry five and want a cheaper rental with a smaller fuel bill, a compact seven-seat crossover does the school run for far fewer dirhams. The X7 is the luxury answer, and it's honest about not being the cheap one.
