Audi RSQ8 2021 - start from 1,101 AED / day

Few cars cover four hundred kilometres of motorway before lunch and still feel ready for more, but the Audi RSQ8 2021 is built for exactly that. We deliver it to your door anywhere in Dubai in one to two hours, keys in hand, ready for the run. This is the page for the driver who measures a car by distance rather than errands. A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 making 600 hp sits under a cabin that stays quiet and composed at speed, which is why the RSQ8 works as a genuine grand tourer: supercar pace, five seats, and the suspension to settle a long highway day. If your week involves real ground to cover, this is the argument for renting it.

What kind of fast it is

The RSQ8 hits 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and the way it gets there matters more than the number. There's no drama, no scrabbling for grip. The quattro all-wheel drive and the eight-speed automatic just compress the road, and the 800 Nm of torque means a roll-on from 90 to 130 for an overtake happens almost before you've finished the thought. On Sheikh Zayed Road, where lane changes at pace are a daily fact, that reserve is the whole point. The V8 settles to a low murmur at a cruise, so an hour to the western emirates or down to Hatta passes without the cabin noise that wears you out in lesser performance SUVs.

Top speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h, which you will never legally approach here, but the relevance is what happens below that. At UAE motorway speeds the RSQ8 feels barely awake, and a car with that much in reserve is a car that never feels strained on a long run.

Will the family and the luggage fit

Five seats, and unlike many fast SUVs the rear is a real place to spend a few hours, with its own air vents so the people behind you aren't an afterthought. The boot holds 605 litres, which in practice swallows two large hard cases and a couple of soft bags with room to spare, and drops the seats and you have 1,755 litres for the airport-run-with-everyone's-luggage scenario. For a DXB or DWC pickup with four passengers and a week's worth of cases, it fits without the Tetris you do in a smaller car. This is the rare performance SUV that doesn't make you choose between pace and a usable cabin.

Fuel, and how often you'll stop

Be honest with yourself: a 600 hp V8 is thirsty. The official combined figure is around 14 litres per 100 km, and in Dubai stop-start traffic with the AC working hard you'll see worse, closer to the high teens. The 85-litre tank gives you a usable range of roughly 500 to 600 km of mixed driving, so a long highway day stays comfortable, but a week of short city hops means you'll visit the pump more than once. The 48-volt mild hybrid recovers a little under braking and smooths the stop-start, though it won't rewrite the economy. If fuel cost is your main worry, this isn't your car, and that's a fair thing to know before you book.

Heat, cooling and the Dubai practicalities

A large cabin parked in July sun gets brutal, and the RSQ8's climate system pulls it down fast once you're moving, with strong front vents and proper rear outlets so the back seats cool at the same rate. Give it a couple of minutes and a 45-degree cabin is livable. The air suspension is the quiet hero of Dubai use: it irons out speed bumps and lifts to clear steep mall ramps that scrape lower cars, then drops at speed for stability.

Parking takes thought. At nearly two metres wide this is a big car, and tight Marina multi-storey bays and tight U-turns ask for the cameras and sensors, which are all there and worth using. A few quick rules that pass to you as the renter: Salik tolls are billed to you, RTA fines come back to you, seatbelts are required in every seat, and a child seat is mandatory for under-fours.

Who should rent it

Rent the RSQ8 if your week is built around distance and speed: airport runs with a full car, long highway legs to the other emirates, and the wish to do all of it in 3.8-second comfort. It's the fast grand tourer that happens to seat five. If your driving is mostly short city errands and parking in tight residential towers, the running cost and the width will frustrate you, and a smaller SUV makes more sense. But for covering serious ground in genuine comfort, with pace held in reserve the whole way, there are very few cars this complete. That's the case for this one.
