There aren't many cars left that sound like the Audi RS Q3 2022, and that noise is the main reason to rent one in Dubai. The five-cylinder turbo has an off-beat warble no four-pot rival can copy, and we hand the car over at your door or the airport within one to two hours, with payment as flexible as you like, from a debit card to crypto. This is the version with 394 horsepower and a sub-4.5-second sprint wrapped in a compact SUV body. The decision this page helps with: rent it for the engine and the everyday usability in one package, and look elsewhere if a soft ride matters more to you than character.
Audi's 2.5-litre five-cylinder is the rare engine people rent a car specifically to hear. It makes 394 hp through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive, and it covers 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.4 seconds. The numbers are quick, but the trait that stays with you is the delivery: a hard, linear shove with that distinctive five-cylinder sound layered on top. On an early-morning run up the E311 with the road empty, it's genuinely special in a way the spec sheet undersells.
Quattro keeps all of that planted. The power goes down cleanly even on a hot, slick surface, so overtaking on Sheikh Zayed Road is a flex of the right foot, not a calculation.

Honesty matters here because the RS Q3 is not a comfortable cruiser. The RS suspension and big wheels are tuned for control, so on smooth highway it's tied down and brilliant, but over Dubai's broken side streets and the sharper community speed bumps it thumps and fidgets. You feel expansion joints you'd never notice in a normal Q3. If you're spending the week mostly on the E11 and the open desert roads out past the city, that firmness is a fair trade. If your days are stop-start runs across town, it wears on you.
Take the steep mall ramps and the bigger humps slowly. With 170 mm of clearance it's a road car, not a dune machine, so leave soft sand and Hatta wadis to a proper 4x4.
This is where the SUV body earns its keep. At just over 4.5 metres the RS Q3 slots into Marina and mall bays without the stress a full-size SUV brings, and the higher seating helps you place it on tight multi-storey ramps. The 530-litre boot takes two large cases plus soft bags for a DXB or DWC airport run without folding anything. Five seats are listed, and two adults with two kids behind is the comfortable limit. Three grown adults across the back on a long trip will be cramped, and legroom behind a tall driver gets tight.
Cooling is strong, which counts when the cabin bakes at 45 degrees in summer. The smaller cabin volume helps the AC pull the temperature down within a couple of minutes once you're moving, the front vents hit hard, and rear passengers get their own outlets. A minute with the doors shut after a long park and it's comfortable.
A few local rules are yours as the renter. Salik tolls register against the car at each gantry, and any RTA fine during the rental, including speed enforcement, passes to you. In a car this quick the limit arrives faster than your eyes register, so watch the speedometer. On fuel, don't expect economy: gentle city driving sits around 9 to 10 L/100 km, and using the performance pushes it higher. The 63-litre tank means a hard week realistically needs two fills, sometimes more. Petrol here is cheap by global standards, so the thirst is a character cost, not a budget one. The booking includes 250 km a day, with extra distance at 3 AED per kilometre.
Rent the RS Q3 2022 if the engine is the reason you're booking and you want supercar pace in something you can still park outside a café and load with luggage. It suits a couple, or two adults and two kids, who want a fast, characterful week and don't mind a stiff setup. For highway cruising and overtaking it's superb, and the five-cylinder noise is worth the rental on its own.
Skip it if comfort comes first, since a calmer crossover will treat your spine far better over rough roads, and skip it if you're moving four adults with a week of luggage, where a larger SUV makes more sense. But if you want one of the last great-sounding engines in a body that handles a normal Dubai week, nothing in this class matches it.
