White is the more sensible colour to rent for an electric SUV in Dubai, and that isn't just a styling opinion. A pale roof and bonnet reflect more of the sun's radiant heat than the black-painted Q8 e-tron also sitting in this fleet, which matters once the car has spent an afternoon in an open parking bay and the battery, not a warm engine, has to do the work of cooling the cabin back down. This white Audi Q8 e-tron 2022 pairs that practical edge with quattro all-wheel drive from two electric motors and a genuine 400-plus-kilometre range. We deliver it to your hotel, villa or the airport within one to two hours of booking. The real question is whether a charging routine fits your week, not which colour looks better in photos.
Audi sold this SUV simply as the e-tron in 2022, a year before the Q8 e-tron name, a facelift and a bigger battery arrived at the start of 2023. What you're renting here is the earlier, well proven version of the car, not a newer model hiding under an older name. Two electric motors sit under the body, one on each axle, and together they form what Audi still calls quattro, though there's no mechanical differential or transfer case doing the work. Sensors track each wheel continuously, and the system redirects torque between the axles in milliseconds, which shows up as steady grip through a fast lane change on Sheikh Zayed Road or off a wet ramp after a rare Dubai downpour.
In everyday driving mode the SUV moves off with barely a whisper, which takes some adjustment if you're used to the petrol Q8's engine note. Switch to the temporary boost setting and combined output climbs to 300 kW, about 402 hp, with 664 Nm of torque, enough for 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and quicker off the line than the petrol Q8 wearing the same badge shape. There's no gearbox hunting for a ratio, because there isn't one, just a single-speed drive that answers the instant you ask for it. Standard air suspension handles the comfort side, soaking up speed bumps and expansion joints, and it can lower itself slightly at highway speed to claw back a little range. Ground clearance sits around 172 mm, enough for mall ramps and villa driveways without scraping, though this isn't a car built for graded desert tracks.
Five seats, and the rear bench has real room for two adults heading to the airport or three kids on the school run, since the battery pack sits flat under the floor rather than intruding on legroom the way a transmission tunnel would. Boot capacity is 660 litres with the seats up, enough for two large cases and a soft bag or two without stacking them to the roof lining. Fold the rear bench flat and that grows to 1,725 litres, enough for a furniture run or a full grocery shop. There's a smaller compartment under the bonnet too, about 50 litres, useful for keeping the charging cable out of the boot rather than acting as a genuine second cargo area.

Two adults, two kids and a week of hotel-to-mall driving fit with room to spare. Add a fourth adult with full-size luggage for an airport transfer and you're packing more carefully. At 1,935 mm wide, this isn't the easiest car to thread into a tight basement parking bay, and you'll lean on the reversing sensors more than once.
A parked white car absorbs less solar energy through its roof and doors than a dark one, and on a car that has no engine to lean on for extra cooling, that difference actually matters. Climb back in after a few hours at the mall and this white Q8 e-tron will have built up noticeably less heat than the black car on the same fleet, so the electric compressor, which starts cooling the moment you start the car instead of waiting on an engine to warm through, has less work left to do. It still won't feel instant on a 45-degree August afternoon, but the recovery is quicker than in most petrol SUVs, and quicker than it would be in the darker paint.
Rated range is around 411 km WLTP, and real Dubai driving with the air conditioning working hard typically lands closer to 320 to 350 km, still several days of city errands and airport runs between charges for most renters. Plug into an 11 kW hotel or villa charger overnight and a full charge takes roughly eight to nine hours, which suits a rental week fine if you top up most nights rather than waiting for the battery to run low. Find a public rapid charger and the car pulls up to 150 kW, enough for a 10 to 80 percent top-up in around half an hour. Dubai's charging network keeps expanding but is still thinner than its petrol stations, so plan the stop instead of assuming one will turn up nearby. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental pass through to the renter, the same as with any car on our fleet.
Rent the Audi Q8 e-tron 2022 if your week looks like a typical Dubai stay: a hotel or villa base, daily driving comfortably under 300 km, evenings free to plug in, and a preference for a quiet, quick SUV that also costs less per kilometre than its petrol equivalent. The white paint is a genuine, if modest, advantage on top of that, since it keeps the cabin a little cooler through a parked afternoon and asks a little less of the battery to fix it.
Look elsewhere if your trip involves back-to-back long drives with no downtime to charge, repeated same-day runs to Abu Dhabi, or a hotel or villa with no charger nearby and no confidence in finding a public one. The petrol Q8 sidesteps that planning completely. As with other luxury cars in our fleet, this one rents against a refundable deposit confirmed at booking, so it isn't a no-deposit rental. Your allowance is 250 km a day, then AED 0.5 for every extra kilometre, and you need to be at least 21 to take the keys.
