What it's like to drive in the heat

It reaches 100 in 6.9 seconds and cruises at the limit without strain. The mild hybrid quietly shuts the engine off in stop-start traffic, which is where it saves you fuel. You won't feel slow merging or overtaking, and the quattro all-wheel drive keeps it planted in a crosswind on the E11.

Cabin cooling matters more than outright pace in a Dubai summer, and a big SUV that's been baking in a mall lot is a real test. Fuel, range and the running cost

A combined figure near 10.7 L/100km is honest for a car this big, and real Dubai driving, lots of AC and stop-start, will sit a bit higher than that. With the 85-litre tank you're looking at roughly 700 to 800 km between fills in mixed use, so a typical week of city errands and a couple of airport runs needs one or two stops, not a fuel stop every other day. Keep in mind that you cover Salik tolls and any RTA fines yourself, and they pass through to the renter, so stick to the limits on the E11.
