Two hundred and fifty kilometres a day come bundled into every Zeekr 001 2024 booking, which is the first thing worth knowing if you've eyed this electric shooting brake but worried about range on a rental. We hand it over anywhere in Dubai inside one to two hours, and the included mileage covers a normal week of city running plus a couple of longer hops without the meter ticking. The 001 is the rare case where the fun part and the sensible part of the decision pull together. This page is about whether that mix suits your week, not whether the car is fast. It is.
The 001 is a low, wide, five-seat estate that Zeekr calls a shooting brake, and the shape is the point. It looks like a coupe from the side and swallows luggage like a wagon. In the dual-motor 2024 form we rent, it makes 789 hp across both axles and hits 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, which is genuinely quick and not a number you'll use often. What you'll use daily is the calm: near silence at a cruise, instant response in traffic, and a cabin closer to a luxury saloon than to anything in the economy class most renters come from.
This is a business-class car at a softer rate than its presence suggests. If you want the badge and the silence without paying flagship-saloon money, that gap is the argument for booking it.

The 95 kWh battery is rated at 675 km on the CLTC cycle. Treat that as a lab number. In Dubai summer, with the AC working hard and some Sheikh Zayed Road cruising, plan for the 450 to 520 km bracket on a real charge. That's still a lot of car between plugs, and for most renters it means charging twice a week rather than every night.
Charging in Dubai is more workable than people expect. DEWA's EV Green Charger points sit at malls, hotels and along main routes, and most towers and villas have a socket within reach. The 001 runs an 800V system, so on a fast DC charger it tops up quickly. The caveat is that public fast chargers can be busy at peak times, so this car suits a renter happy to glance at a charging app and plan a stop. If you'd rather never think about it, you want a petrol car. If you'll plan one coffee-length stop mid-week, the 001 rewards you with cheaper, quieter miles. Range holds up fine on a DXB or DWC airport run, and a return trip from the far side of the city won't trouble a half-full battery.
Park this in the sun at 45 degrees and the cabin bakes like any other. The upside of an EV is you can pre-cool it from the app before you walk out, and once moving the AC pulls a hot cabin down within a few minutes. Front and rear passengers both get vents, so a full car stays even, which isn't always true a class below.
Size is the thing to respect. At nearly five metres long and two metres wide, the 001 is a big car for a tight multi-storey. Marina and older mall ramps clear fine on 170 mm, but cramped bays and tight U-turns ask for care, and the sensors and cameras earn their keep. If your week is mostly narrow underground parking, factor that in. On open road it shrinks around you and feels planted.
A word on the running costs that pass to you: Salik tolls and any RTA fines are the renter's to settle, and seatbelts are mandatory in every seat. None of that is specific to this car, but on a vehicle this quick the speed-camera reminder is worth saying once.
Yes, comfortably. The boot holds 539 litres with all five seats up, enough for two large cases and soft bags without a fight, and the long load floor slots in a third case where a saloon would refuse. Drop the rear seats and it opens past 2000 litres. There's also a small front compartment for keeping the charging cable out of the main boot. For airport duty with four adults and a week of bags, this is one of the few cars in our fleet that doesn't make you choose what to leave behind.
Book the Zeekr 001 2024 if you want a fast, hushed, spacious electric estate at a rate well under the flagship saloons, and you're comfortable glancing at a charging map once or twice a week. Couples and small families on a longer Dubai stay get the most from it: the space is real, the cabin is calm, and energy undercuts petrol by a wide margin.
Skip it if your trip is short, your parking is all tight basement bays, or charging sounds like a chore you don't want on holiday. A petrol saloon or crossover keeps that simpler. But if the EV part appeals and you'll plan ahead even a little, few cars at this price feel this expensive in the right ways.
