Need a third row without jumping to a full-size SUV? We rent the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace 2025 across Dubai, with doorstep delivery and a no-deposit plan if you'd rather not tie up a card hold for the week. This is the stretched Tiguan: same well-built German cabin, but a longer body that adds two extra seats and a bigger boot. That's the whole case for it. You get seven seats and a quality interior without the bulk, the thirst, or the parking headache of something like a Patrol or a Land Cruiser. The catch is in the details below, and they matter once you're loading real people and real luggage.
The difference is length. The Allspace runs 4728 mm nose to tail, and the extra wheelbase goes into a third row plus more cargo room behind the second. The five-seat Tiguan is the better buy if you never need those back seats. But if your group regularly hits six or seven, the Allspace saves you from renting a van or a far bigger 4x4 you'll then have to park.
The cabin is the reason people pick this over a cheaper seven-seater. Solid plastics, doors that shut with weight, a driving position that feels like a proper SUV rather than a tall hatch. After a week of school runs and mall trips, that quality holds up where a budget rival starts to rattle.
Honestly, that depends on who's sitting in row three. With all seven seats up, the boot shrinks to a soft-bag-and-shopping space, not a suitcase one. Plan on the third row for kids or short hops across town, an airport run with grandparents, a beach day, that kind of thing. Two grown adults back there for an hour is fine; for a long highway haul they'll want out.
Drop the third row and the picture changes completely. As a five-seater the Allspace swallows a big weekly shop or several large cases with ease, which is how most renters end up using it. Fold the second row too and it's close to a small van. So the smart play for a family of five with luggage is to leave row three down and treat the extra length as boot. A family of seven travelling light works; a family of seven with a week of airport cases does not. For that, size up.

The 2.0 turbo with 201 hp and the DSG gearbox give this car more than enough for Dubai. Merging onto the E11, overtaking at speed, holding 120 on a long airport run to DXB or out to DWC, none of it strains the engine. The 4MOTION all-wheel drive isn't there for dunes; it's there for stability when the car's fully loaded and you're changing lanes at highway speed. Treat it as confidence on tarmac, not a dune machine.
Around the Marina and in multi-storey mall bays, remember this is a midsize-to-large SUV close to 4.7 metres long. It parks fine, but you'll use the cameras and you'll think about your angles in the tight bays. The 201 mm of ground clearance clears Dubai's speed bumps and mall ramps without the scrape you get in a low sedan, so you can stop bracing for the nose every time.
On fuel, expect roughly 12 km/L in city stop-and-go and up to 16 on the highway in real conditions. With the 60-litre tank that's a genuine week of mixed driving for most renters before you're back at the pump. One fill covers a lot of school runs.
Heat first. In summer the cabin bakes when it's parked at 45 in the sun, and the Allspace's larger volume takes a minute or two longer to cool than a small hatch. The upside is rear air vents for the second row, so once it's running, the people in the middle aren't roasting. Third-row passengers get the least airflow, which is another reason that row suits short trips rather than long ones in July.
A few rules pass straight to you as the renter. Salik tolls are on your account, and any RTA fines during the rental are yours too. Seatbelts are required in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, worth sorting before you set off with a full car. We can deliver the Allspace to you within one to two hours anywhere in the city, with 250 km included per day.
Rent the Allspace if you've got a bigger family or a group of six or seven and you want a genuinely nice cabin without stepping up to a thirsty full-size 4x4. It's the sensible quality pick: comfortable, easy on fuel for its size, and big enough to handle most of what a Dubai week throws at a family. Just go in clear-eyed about the trade-off. The third row is for kids and short hops, and the boot is tight with all seven seats in use.
If you never need seven seats, save a little and take the standard five-seat Tiguan, which gives you the same cabin and a roomier boot day to day. If you're heading into the real desert for soft-sand dune driving rather than graded tracks, this car isn't built for it, and a body-on-frame 4x4 is the right tool. And if you simply want the most luggage space possible for five people, a five-seat SUV beats the seven-up Allspace. For everyone in between, the people who genuinely need the seats some of the time and want a well-made car the rest of it, the Allspace is the easy call.
