Toyota Rush 2025 - start from 227 AED / day

We hand over the Toyota Rush 2025 across Dubai with doorstep delivery in one to two hours, so the car reaches your building or hotel rather than you queuing at a counter. The Rush is a compact SUV that does something most cars its size can't: it fits a third row. That's the whole reason to rent one. You get seven seats, a tall driving position and genuinely small running costs in a body short enough to park anywhere. The catch is that the third row is sized for kids or short hops, and the 1.5-litre engine works hard with a full load. This page is about whether that trade is right for your week here.

Who the Rush actually suits

Think of it as a budget family runabout, not a road-trip seven-seater. If you're two adults and two or three kids doing the school run, the supermarket and the occasional beach day, the Rush is one of the cheapest ways to carry everyone without renting something big and thirsty. The high seating helps in traffic, you sit above most hatchbacks, and the short body means tight bays and U-turns never become a problem.

Where it struggles is the demanding stuff. Five adults plus luggage, long highway stints at full load, or anyone expecting a quiet, planted ride will find the Rush modest. It's rear-wheel drive with no low-range and no off-road pretensions, so the desert is off the table. Treat it as a clever city seven-seater and it makes a lot of sense.

Does your family and luggage fit

Seven seats sounds generous, and for the right family it is. Rows one and two are fine for adults. The third row is a different story: it's a kids' bench, good for two children on the school run or four adults on a ten-minute hop to dinner, not a place to put grown-ups for an hour on Sheikh Zayed Road. Fold it flat and the Rush turns into a deep, square load space that swallows a week's shopping or a couple of large cases.

With all seven seats up, boot space drops to around 213 litres, which is enough for a few soft bags and not much else. That's the honest limit. If you're arriving at DXB or DWC with three big suitcases and five people, you'll be choosing between luggage and the last two seats. For families who travel light, or who use the third row only for the kids and pile cases on the folded seats, it works well. For a full load of adults and airport luggage together, size up.

Running it in the heat

A 1.5-litre engine and a 45-litre tank give the Rush a useful advantage in Dubai: you fill up rarely. Around 14 km/L in city driving means a week of school runs and errands won't have you back at the pump often, and fuel here is cheap to begin with. Drive it gently and it's genuinely frugal. Load all seven seats and climb an interchange ramp and the engine gets vocal, because 104 horsepower has a lot of car to move, but for everyday speeds it's fine.

The AC matters more than the brochure suggests. After a few hours parked in a summer car park, the cabin sits well above 45 degrees, and a tall SUV cabin takes a little longer to cool than a small hatch. The front vents pull it down at a reasonable pace once you're moving. Rear passengers, including anyone in the third row, get less direct airflow, so on the hottest days give it a few minutes with the fan high before you load the kids in.

Driving it around the city

This is where the Rush earns its keep. At 4,435 mm long it parks like a small car, slips into the tighter Marina and mall bays, and clears speed bumps and steep ramp lips easily thanks to 220 mm of ground clearance. The light steering makes multi-storey car parks and U-turns painless. You sit high, so visibility in dense traffic is good.

On the open road it's competent rather than confident. The Rush cruises happily on the E11 at legal speeds with a light load, but with seven aboard and the AC fighting the heat, overtaking takes planning and the car feels its modest power above 100. It's a city and suburb tool that handles the occasional highway run, not a long-haul cruiser.

A couple of Dubai rental basics apply here as with any car: Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental are billed to you, seat belts are required in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, which matters in a car you may well be renting for exactly that reason.

The recommendation

Rent the Rush if you're a budget-minded family who needs seven seats some of the time and small running costs all of the time. For the school run, supermarket trips and the odd outing with the kids in the back, nothing else this cheap carries this many people. Just go in clear-eyed: the third row is for children or short hops, the boot is tight with every seat in use, and the 1.5 engine is relaxed rather than quick. If you're regularly carrying five adults plus luggage, doing long highway distances, or want a comfortable third row for grown-ups, skip the Rush and move up to a proper midsize seven-seater like a Toyota Innova or a Kia Carnival. For everyone else who just needs the seats without the fuel bill, the Rush is the smart, frugal pick.
