All-wheel drive here is for traction and stability, not dune bashing. It helps on a wet underpass or a sandy slip road, but this is a road SUV on road tyres, so leave Hatta's rough trails and soft desert to a proper 4x4.

Space, the back seat and the boot

This is where the Koleos earns its keep. The back seat is genuinely roomy, wide enough that two adults aren't negotiating shoulder space and a third can sit in the middle for short hops without complaint.
