The Renault Duster 2025 sits 210 mm off the ground, and in a city full of aggressive speed bumps and steep mall lips that single number does more for your week than any badge. We deliver it to your door in Dubai within one to two hours, with a no-deposit option so you're not tying up cash for a budget SUV. This is the car to book when you want height, all-wheel-drive grip and the freedom to leave the tarmac now and then, without paying crossover money. It runs a 2.0-litre making 143 hp through an automatic gearbox, so it has the muscle to keep up on the highway too. The cabin is plain, and we'll be straight about that further down.
Ride height is the Duster's headline. At 210 mm it clears Dubai's speed bumps, the lips on mall entrances and rough kerbs without the wince you feel in a low sedan. You sit high, see over traffic, and the suspension shrugs off broken surfaces that have a hatchback scraping. For a renter who hates the constant crawl over humps, that alone earns the rate.
The all-wheel-drive system is the second reason people choose this one. It sends grip to the wheels that need it, which matters on a sandy access track, a graded path toward Hatta, or a wet ramp after a rare downpour. Be realistic about the limit, though. This is a light SUV with AWD, not a low-range dune basher. Compacted tracks, beach access roads and graded trails are well within reach. For soft sand and real recovery situations you want a proper body-on-frame 4x4. The Duster covers the in-between, which is where most weekend plans actually land.

A tall SUV is only relaxing if it can hold its lane at speed, and this is where the 2.0-litre matters. With 143 hp it gets to 100 km/h in around 10.3 seconds and tops out near 180. Those aren't quick numbers on paper, but they change how the car feels. Merging onto the E11 and overtaking a slow lorry happen without you planning three cars ahead. The automatic keeps things calm in stop-start traffic, so the left foot stays idle in the Marina queues.
Five seats with honest room for the class. Two adults up front are comfortable, and the back takes three kids or two adults for shorter trips. The boot holds 443 litres with the seats up, enough for two large cases and soft bags on a DXB or DWC pickup. Fold the rear bench and you open a long 1604-litre load space for bulkier kit or a flat-pack run.
Inside is where you pay for the rate. Hard plastics, simple switchgear, none of the screens or soft surfaces you'd find a couple of brackets up. That's the deal. If a premium cabin matters to you, this isn't your car, and we'd rather tell you now than at handover.
From May through September the cabin bakes when parked, like everything here, so what counts is how fast it recovers. Once you're moving, the front vents pull the temperature down within a few minutes rather than fighting the heat all trip. It's a budget SUV, so don't expect rear vents or climate luxury, but for the cabin size the cooling copes. Park in shade where you can and the first minute is far kinder.
Fuel is a non-event. The 2.0-litre drinks a little more than the smaller engines Renault fits elsewhere, but combined use sits around 7.8 litres per 100 km, and the 50-litre tank stretches across most of a week of city driving. Petrol here is cheap, so the pace costs you very little in practice. Salik tolls are charged as you pass the gantries, and any RTA fines during the rental pass to the renter. A child seat is mandatory for under-fours, which we can fit on request.
Rent the Duster 2025 if you want real ground clearance and AWD grip on a budget, with enough engine to feel relaxed at 120 and the option to wander onto a graded track at the weekend. The no-deposit booking and doorstep delivery make it an easy car to get into for a week of mixed city and light off-tarmac use.
Look elsewhere if interior quality sits high on your list, because the cabin stays firmly budget. Pick a proper 4x4 if soft sand and dune driving are the plan rather than the occasional access road. But for a renter who wants a tough, tall SUV that can stray off the asphalt and still hold its own on the highway, this Duster does exactly that for the money.
