With the weight sitting in the middle of the car, it turns in flat and stays balanced in a way front-engine convertibles never quite match. The roof and the heat, honestly

The folding fabric top is the reason most people book this car, and it's worth being straight about when you'll actually use it. From late spring through summer, roof-down driving is an early-morning and after-dark thing, not a midday one. At noon in July the sun is punishing and a black cabin bakes. Drop the top at dawn along the coast or after sunset, and put it up by mid-morning.

With the roof up the Boxster behaves like any sealed coupe, and the small cabin is its advantage in the heat. There's so little air to cool that the AC pulls the temperature down fast once you're moving. The first minute after a sun-soaked park is unpleasant, same as any car here, but a tight two-seater recovers quicker than a big SUV. Front vents are strong, and there are no rear vents because there's no rear.

Living with the low nose

At 131 mm of ground clearance with a long front overhang, this car asks for care over the things Dubai throws under it. Sharp speed bumps, steep mall ramps, and some basement entries want a slow, angled approach so the front lip doesn't catch. Learn which ramps to baby and it becomes second nature within a day. Fuel, and a few Dubai rules

A 54-litre tank and roughly 9 km/L in town give you a real-world range near 621 km, so a single fill covers most of a leisure rental unless you're driving it hard. The included 250 km a day suits coastal runs and evening cruises without thinking about it.

Salik tolls run to your account as you pass the gantries, and any RTA fines during the rental, speed cameras included, pass to you. Enforcement here is strict and camera-heavy, so the performance is best kept inside the limits.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the 2025 Boxster if you want a real Porsche driving experience on flexible terms: rent-from-18, no big deposit, the car at your door. For one or two people travelling light who care how a car feels through a corner, nothing near this rate gives you the same drive, and the easy booking takes the friction out of trying one.

Skip it if you're carrying more than one passenger, moving airport luggage, or commuting through peak-summer gridlock all week. For that, a sedan or an SUV gives you the comfort and space the Boxster deliberately leaves out. Book it for the drive and the open roof, and it's hard to beat.
