The Porsche 911 2025 we rent in Dubai is the one that finally went hybrid, and that changes the whole conversation about this car. This is the Carrera GTS T-Hybrid, the first electrified 911, and we offer it with a no-deposit plan so a serious supercar doesn't tie up a large hold on your card. The argument for it is specific: the hybrid system isn't here to save fuel, it's here to kill turbo lag, and the result is a 911 that responds the instant you ask, anywhere in the rev range. If you've driven a fast turbo car and wished the throttle felt sharper, this is the reason to book it. Here's where it delivers and where it doesn't.
Forget the eco associations. The GTS uses a 3.6-litre flat-six with a single electric turbocharger and a small motor in the gearbox, and the point is response, not range. There's no lag to wait out. Squeeze the throttle at any speed and the car surges immediately, which makes it feel more alive in daily Dubai driving than a conventional turbo of similar power. System output is 541 PS, 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.0 seconds, and it runs to 312 km/h.
The numbers put it a clear step above the base Carrera, but the way it deploys them is the real story. On Sheikh Zayed Road it gathers speed without the half-beat pause you feel in most turbo cars, and around town it's docile and easy. That breadth is what a 911 has always promised, and the hybrid sharpens the quick end of it.

The thing the brochure won't tell you is how low this car sits, and Dubai is full of aggressive speed bumps, steep mall ramps and underground entries that will scrape a low front lip if you take them straight on. The GTS rides 10 mm lower than a standard Carrera on its sports chassis, so this matters more, not less. Use the front-axle lift. It raises the nose at low speed, and you'll reach for it more than you expect: cresting humps, dropping into a parking structure, easing over the lip at a hotel forecourt. Find the button on day one and angle across bumps rather than meeting them square.
Parking is easier than the car looks. It's no wider than a mid-size sedan, the steering is light at a crawl, and forward visibility is good. The low seating position is the only adjustment, mostly felt reversing out of a packed bay.
A black coupe baking in a summer car park gets hot fast, and the 911's small, low cabin is a mixed thing at 45 degrees. There's very little air to cool, so once the AC is working it pulls down quickly and holds it. The catch is the first couple of minutes after a midday start, when the leather and the low glass have been soaking up sun. Crack the windows for the opening stretch and it settles. The rear vents are token, but so are the rear seats, so it hardly matters.
On range, the 84-litre tank and roughly 10.6 L/100km on paper sound fine, and they are if you drive gently. Nobody rents a GTS to drive gently. Expect real economy well short of that, and plan to refuel every few days of enthusiastic driving rather than once a week.
Be honest about what fits. The front boot, where the engine isn't, holds 132 litres. That's one cabin-sized case and a soft bag, no more. The rear seats take a second small bag or a child for a short hop, but they are not adult seats and shouldn't be sold as four-up transport. Two people with carry-on for a long weekend are comfortable. A DXB or DWC airport run for two with full-size cases is tight, and a case ends up on the rear bench.
If you need to carry people or proper luggage, this is the wrong car, and that's fine. The GTS is rented for the drive, not the boot.
Rent the GTS T-Hybrid if you want the most complete everyday 911 yet: docile enough for a Marina morning, savage the instant you open it up, and free of the turbo lag that takes the edge off rivals. For one or two people who came to Dubai partly to drive something special, this is the sharpest version of the 911's daily-driver trick.
Skip it if comfort or space is the priority. A highway haul with three passengers and a week of luggage belongs in an SUV, and if you want the badge but plan to lounge more than drive, a four-seat grand tourer suits you better. Remember the enforcement too: Salik, speed cameras and RTA fines all pass to the renter, and this car gathers them quickly if you're not watching the readout. Belts are mandatory front and rear. Security terms on a car at this level can be stricter than on our everyday fleet, so confirm the exact requirements when you book.
