We hand over the Peugeot 3008 2025 across Dubai with doorstep delivery in one to two hours, so the car reaches you before you've finished unpacking. This is the new-generation 3008, redrawn from the ground up, and it looks nothing like the crossover it replaces. The front end is sharper, the roofline drops into a coupe-ish tail, and the cabin is built around a single curved screen that sweeps from behind the wheel to the centre of the dash. If you want a compact SUV that reads differently from the usual RAV4 or Tucson on a Dubai forecourt, this is the one that gets looks. The catch is the cabin layout itself, and whether it suits you is the decision this page is really about.
Peugeot didn't soften the new 3008. The steering wheel is tiny, sized so you look over it rather than through it at a high-mounted digital display. People either click with it in five minutes or never quite settle. I've handed this car to renters who loved the go-kart feel of that small wheel and to a couple who asked to swap it the next morning. There's no middle ground, so test it on the delivery driver's handover before you commit to a week.
Once you're past the wheel, the rest is genuinely good. The 21-inch curved panel is crisp, the materials feel a class above the price suggests, and the row of toggle switches below the screen handles the shortcuts you actually use. Five seats, a flat floor in the back, and enough rear knee room for two adults to sit behind two adults without negotiating. The third passenger in the middle is fine for a school run, less so for a long E11 cruise.
The boot is one of the stronger arguments for this car. You'll fit two large cases and a couple of soft bags without folding anything, which covers a DXB pickup for a family of four with real luggage. Drop the rear seats and it opens up enough for a flat-pack run or a week's worth of beach and camping gear. For airport work this is the part that matters: a Tucson-class boot in a car that parks like something smaller.
The 1.6 turbo petrol makes 180 hp through a 6-speed automatic, front-wheel drive. That's more than enough for how people actually drive here. It pulls cleanly onto Sheikh Zayed Road, sits at 120 without working hard, and has the punch to complete an overtake instead of praying through it. This isn't a slow car pretending to be efficient. It's a quick crossover that happens to sip reasonably.
Ground clearance is 198mm, which clears mall ramps and speed bumps cleanly. You won't scrape a Marina parking entrance or catch the nose on a steep multi-storey incline. It's front-wheel drive only, so treat it as a road car. Soft sand and dune tracks aren't its job, and if Hatta off-road trails are your plan, size up to a proper 4x4.
Dubai summers push the high 40s, and a parked 3008 bakes like anything else. The AC pulls a hot cabin down at a steady, predictable pace rather than an instant blast, and the front vents are strong once it's working. Rear passengers get their own vents, which keeps kids in the back from melting on a long afternoon. If your car has the panoramic glass roof, ask the delivery driver to confirm the sunshade is closed before handover, because that roof loads the cabin with heat fast when it sits open in a car park.

Combined economy sits around 17 km/L, which is strong for a petrol SUV with this much power. The 55-litre tank gives a quoted range up to 1,036 km, though that's a steady-cruise figure. In real Dubai mixed driving, with AC running flat out and stop-start traffic on the city roads, expect closer to the 12 to 14 km/L city figure. That still means one fill covers most of a week of normal use. You're not stopping at a station every other day.
Salik tolls run on the renter's account, so every gantry you pass on Sheikh Zayed Road or the crossings adds up on your bill. The same goes for RTA fines: speed cameras and parking tickets pass straight to you. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, which we can fit before delivery if you ask.
Rent the 2025 3008 if you want a compact SUV that looks and feels different from the Japanese and Korean default, you've got real luggage to carry, and you'll do a mix of city and highway. It's quick, it's economical for its power, and the boot genuinely earns its keep on an airport run. Just make sure the small wheel and high display work for you, because that layout decides the whole car. If you'd rather not gamble on that cabin, a Tucson or Sportage gives you a more conventional, no-surprises crossover. And if you need three rows or you're planning desert and Hatta trails, this isn't the car. Step up to a seven-seater or a body-on-frame 4x4 instead.
