Nissan Rogue 2023 - start from 206 AED / day

Need a compact SUV in Dubai that feels current rather than carried over, and we'll hand you a Nissan Rogue 2023 with the payment sorted at the door. We take cards, cash, and the usual wallets on delivery, so you're not wiring a deposit before you've seen the car. The 2023 Rogue is the well-equipped middle of the market: a roomy five-seat crossover with a higher seating position, a genuinely usable boot, and relaxed road manners. This page is about whether that mix suits your week here, where it earns its keep, and the two cases where you should rent something else.

What the 2023 Rogue actually is

This is the updated version, not the carryover. Nissan dropped the old four-cylinder for a 1.5-litre VC-Turbo three, and despite the small displacement it makes 201 hp, which is more than the badge size suggests. Paired with the Xtronic CVT, it moves a family load up to highway speed without drama. The trade-off is the one every CVT brings: ask for a hard overtake and the engine note climbs and holds while the revs sit there, a flat drone rather than the step-up of a normal gearbox. Drive it the way most people do, smooth and unhurried, and you barely notice. Stamp on it to clear a slow truck on the way to Hatta and you will.

The cabin is the real reason to pick it. Materials feel a step above the budget class, the dash tech looks modern, and there's proper room for four adults with bags. The raised seating position helps in traffic and when you're judging tight bays.

Will your luggage fit

For a couple or a small family, yes, comfortably. The boot swallows two large suitcases plus a couple of soft bags with the rear seats up, which covers most airport runs from DXB or DWC and a week of mall hauls. Drop the rear seats and you've got a flat load space for the bigger jobs, a flat-pack pickup or a bicycle.

Where it runs out is the full house. Five people with five proper cases is a squeeze, and that's the honest limit of a compact SUV against a midsize one. If you're a group of four adults each travelling heavy, the boot will fill before the seats do.

Driving it around Dubai

On Sheikh Zayed Road and the E11 the Rogue cruises calmly and has enough in reserve to merge and pass at speed. It's a relaxed motorway car rather than a quick one, and the soft suspension that smooths bumps also means it leans through fast direction changes. Treat it as a comfortable mile-eater, not a back-road plaything, and it's pleasant.

Around town the higher view and light steering make it easy. The 208 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and steep mall ramps without the scrape you get in low hatchbacks, and the Marina car park ramps hold no fear. At just over 4.6 metres long it's bigger than a Picanto or a hatch, so a few multi-storey bays ask for a careful reverse, but the camera and sensors do the work.

The AWD model gives you sure footing on a sandy shoulder or a graded track, though this is a soft-roader, not a dune machine. For a day at Hatta on sealed and light gravel roads it's fine; for serious off-road you want a body-on-frame 4x4.

Heat, fuel, and the running costs you actually pay

Dubai summer is the real test, and the Rogue's larger cabin takes a beat longer to cool than a small car after it's been parked at 45 degrees. Give the front vents a minute and it pulls down well, and the rear vents mean back-seat passengers aren't left baking on the school run or the airport drop. Park in shade where you can and the first blast of cold comes quicker.

On fuel, expect around 8 to 9 litres per 100 km in normal Dubai mixed driving, more if you sit in summer crawl with the AC flat out. The 55-litre tank gives a realistic 650 to 700 km between fills, so a typical week of city errands and a couple of longer runs is one fill, maybe a top-up. That's sensible for an SUV this size, not class-leading economy.

A couple of local facts worth knowing: Salik tolls run on your account through the rental, so each gate you pass is yours to settle, and any RTA fines during the hire pass to you. Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat, and kids under four need a child seat, which we can fit if you ask.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Rogue if you're a couple or a family of four who wants a comfortable, well-equipped crossover for a Dubai week, with the higher view, the easy parking, and a boot that handles airport luggage. It's the sensible value pick when a budget hatch feels too small and a luxury SUV is more than you need.

Size up to a seven-seater like a Pathfinder or an X-Trail with the third row if you're carrying more than five people, or five adults with full luggage. Size down to a hatch if it's just one or two of you on short city hops and you'd rather pay less and park in any gap. For most family rentals, though, the Rogue lands in the right spot, and we'll have it at your door in one to two hours.
