Nissan Kicks 2025 - start from 229 AED / day

Want a small crossover that sits you up high, looks sharp outside a Marina cafe, and doesn't drink fuel or empty your wallet on the deposit. We rent the Nissan Kicks 2025 across Dubai with a no-deposit option, so you can drive away without a five-figure hold sitting on your card all week. This is the newest take on the easy little high-view SUV: economy-class running costs, a raised driving position, and a body short enough to slot into bays a full-size crossover can only dream of. The job of this page is simple. It tells you when the Kicks is the right rental and when you should size up.

The table is the reference. The rest of this page is what those numbers mean for your week.

Who it suits, and who should look bigger

The Kicks is built for one or two people who want crossover looks and a tall seating position without paying crossover money. You get the high view that makes Dubai's wide junctions and roundabouts feel manageable, plus a cabin that's genuinely roomy up front.

Put four adults in it with a week's airport luggage, and the cracks show. The rear bench seats two in comfort and three at a squeeze for short hops, but the boot is the real limit, and I'll come back to that. If your trip is a family of four with full suitcases, or regular runs to Abu Dhabi, rent a larger crossover or a sedan and don't fight the Kicks on a job it wasn't built for.

Parking and city manoeuvring

This is where the Kicks earns its keep. At 4.3 metres long and just 1.76 wide, it's one of the easier crossovers to thread through a packed mall car park. Tight multi-storey bays, the narrow ramps spiralling up the Marina towers, awkward U-turns on residential streets: the Kicks shrugs all of it off. The turning circle is tight and forward visibility is good, helped by that raised seat.

Ground clearance sits around 183 mm. That's enough to clear Dubai's aggressive community speed bumps and steep mall ramps without scraping the nose, which a low sedan can't always promise. It is not enough to go off the tarmac. This is a front-wheel-drive city crossover, so soft sand and desert tracks are off the table. Keep it on the road and it's happy.

Heat and the AC

A parked car in a Dubai July is brutal, and a small cabin is actually an advantage here. There's less air to cool, so the Kicks pulls a baked interior down faster than a big seven-seater does. Drop the windows for the first thirty seconds to dump the worst of the heat, set the AC to recirculate, and the front vents cope well even when it's reading high 40s outside. The front gets the strongest airflow, and there are no separate rear vents, so back-seat passengers cool through the cabin rather than from their own outlets. For two people up front that's a non-issue. For a full back seat on a long, hot afternoon, it's worth knowing.

Fuel, range and the running cost

Economy is the whole reason to pick this car. Nissan quotes around 15 km/L, but in real Dubai driving, with the AC working hard and constant stop-and-go, expect nearer 13 km/L in the city and a bit better on an open run. On a 41-litre tank that's roughly 520 to 560 km between fills, so most renters cover a week of errands and short trips on a single tank, maybe topping up once.

Salik tolls and any RTA fines pass to you, the renter, so plan your gates and keep an eye on the speed limits. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat. None of that is Kicks-specific, but it's the part new visitors forget until the fine arrives.

Boot space and what fits

Behind the rear seats you get 432 litres. In practice that's one large suitcase plus a cabin bag and a couple of soft holdalls, which is fine for a solo traveller or a couple, and it handles a DXB or DWC airport run for two people comfortably. Fold the rear seats down and you free up real space for a flat-pack from the mall or a bulk shop.

Where it gets tight is two large hard cases side by side with the seats up. They won't both lie flat. If your group is four people each with a big case, this boot will frustrate you, and that's the clearest signal to size up.

On Sheikh Zayed Road and the highway

Around town the 122 hp and the CVT are well matched, and the car feels light and responsive at city speeds. Get onto Sheikh Zayed Road or the E11 and the picture changes. The Kicks cruises fine at 100 to 120 km/h, but ask for a quick overtake with the AC blasting and a couple of passengers aboard, and the CVT makes the engine work loud while the response goes soft. It gets there, just without much in reserve. For occasional highway stints it's fine. If most of your week is fast motorway miles between emirates, the modest engine wears thin, and a more powerful crossover is the smarter rent.

The verdict

Rent the Nissan Kicks 2025 if you're solo or a couple wanting a stylish, frugal little SUV that parks anywhere and keeps fuel and deposit costs low for a week of city living and the odd airport hop. It's one of the easiest crossovers in Dubai to live with day to day. Just be honest about its limits: front-wheel drive with no off-road ability, a boot that tops out at one big case plus bags, and an engine built for the city rather than hammering up the highway four-up. If that's your trip, step up to a bigger crossover. For everyone else, the Kicks is a lot of practical car for very little money.
