Book the Nissan Kicks 2024 with us and you can skip the deposit entirely for a small fee, which keeps your card free for the rest of your trip. That matters on a budget crossover, because the whole reason people pick the Kicks is to spend less while still sitting higher than a hatchback. Here's our take: the 2024 Kicks is one of the cheapest sensible ways to get a raised, automatic, easy-to-park car for a Dubai week, as long as you're realistic about its modest 122 hp. For one or two people doing city errands, it's plenty. For a full car of adults chasing fast highway miles, it isn't, and we'll say so below.
The Kicks earns its place on price, not performance. The 1.6-litre engine returns around 7 litres per 100 km in mixed driving, and the 41-litre tank gives you close to 580 km of real range. For a normal week of school runs, mall trips and a couple of longer drives, that's one fill and maybe a top-up before you hand it back. There aren't many crossovers this frugal.
The cost that surprises renters isn't fuel. Salik tolls come out of your pocket as you pass the gantries, and on a route that crosses Sheikh Zayed Road twice daily they add up faster than the petrol does. RTA fines during the rental are yours too, so watch the cameras on the E11.

With 122 hp through a CVT and front-wheel drive, the 2024 Kicks is built for town, not for sprinting. Around the city it's easy and unbothered, pulling away from lights and threading through traffic without fuss. The CVT keeps things smooth in stop-and-go, which is most of Dubai driving anyway.
The catch shows up on the highway. Overtaking at 120 on Sheikh Zayed Road means planning your move, not stabbing the throttle for an instant surge. It cruises and holds its lane fine, but with four people aboard and the AC working, it's clearly doing its best rather than coasting. For airport runs to DXB or DWC and the odd intercity trip it copes; for a week of fast highway miles fully loaded, you'll want more grunt.
This is the Kicks at its best. At 4.29 metres it slots into the tight bays in older Marina towers and packed mall car parks where a bigger SUV would have you shuffling. The high seating gives a clear view over the bonnet, and a divided-road U-turn takes one clean bite.
Ground clearance is 178 mm, taller than most hatchbacks, so the steep residential speed bumps and the sharp lips on some mall ramps clear without scraping. You get the raised view and the easy parking in the same car, which is exactly the trade most city renters are after.
Cabin heat is a real concern here from May onward. Leave any car in the July sun and it's an oven by midday. The Kicks has a small interior, which helps: the AC has less air to chill, so the front vents pull the temperature down to bearable within a few minutes of driving. The back relies on airflow from the front rather than dedicated rear vents, so on a 45-degree afternoon the rear seat takes a little longer to settle. Two up front cool quickly. With kids behind you on a long midday drive, get the AC running before everyone climbs in.
The boot holds around 432 litres with the seats up, which in real terms is one large case and a couple of soft bags, or two medium cases packed flat. That's fine for a couple flying in or a small family doing weekend trips. Fold the 60/40 rear seats and you free up enough for a flat-pack run, but you lose the back row to do it. Four adults with full-size airport luggage won't fit comfortably, and if that's your trip, a larger crossover or a deeper-booted sedan is the better call. Seat belts are required in every seat, and children under four need a child seat, which we can fit on request.
Rent the Nissan Kicks 2024 if you're one or two people who want a cheap, frugal, easy-to-park crossover with a higher view of the road, and the no-deposit option keeps your card clear for the week. For city errands, light family use and the occasional airport pickup, it does everything you need.
Look at something bigger if you regularly carry four adults with luggage or live on the fast lanes of the E11. For those weeks the modest engine and shallow boot will frustrate you. For everyone else watching the budget, the 2024 Kicks is a sensible, economical pick that gets the basics right.
