Most Dubai rentals ration you to a daily kilometre cap and bill you for every kilometre past it. The Nissan Kicks 2024 doesn't. We rent it with unlimited mileage included, so there's no daily figure to watch and no per kilometre charge waiting at the end of the week, however far you actually drive. It's delivered to your door in Dubai within one to two hours, and you'll need to be 25 to take the keys. That one policy line changes how you use the car more than anything under the bonnet, and it's the reason this page starts there instead of with the engine or the boot.
Unlimited mileage is unusual in this class, and it's worth spelling out what it actually removes. There's no daily allowance to track, no running tally to keep in your head over a long weekend, and no per kilometre overage rate, because there's nothing to go over. Commute from the Marina to a job in Business Bay every day, drive out to Hatta on a Friday, and pick a friend up from DXB late at night after they land, and none of it adds up against a cap.
That matters more in a small crossover than in a large SUV, because a car this size tends to get used for everything, the daily commute and the odd long drive both. Read the fine print on most rentals in this class and you'll find a daily figure and a rate for every kilometre past it. Here there's neither, and that's a genuinely generous policy rather than a marketing line.

The boot holds 432 litres with the rear seats up, and the shape suits hard suitcases better than the number alone suggests. Two large cases stand upright with a soft bag wedged around them, enough for a couple's week away or a family arriving at DXB or DWC without anyone holding a bag on their lap. Fold the rear seats and the floor opens out for flatpack furniture, a stroller or a bike.
The back seat is honest about its limits. Two adults sit fine on a short hop or a longer highway drive, and three children buckle across without a squeeze. Add a fourth adult for a full day with everyone's luggage aboard and both the seat and the boot run out of slack at the same time. That's not a flaw specific to this car, it's what happens in most compact crossovers at 4,295 mm long, but it's worth knowing before you book for four.
Size works in your favour once you're parking rather than loading. At 1,760 mm wide the Kicks tucks into tower basement bays and mall multi-storey spaces that make a full-size SUV do a three-point shuffle, and 200 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and ramp lips without a scrape. Don't mistake that clearance for a desert rating. It's front-wheel drive on road tyres, built for tarmac, not soft sand.
Running cost is where the unlimited mileage pays off twice. The 1.6-litre engine, a naturally aspirated four making 118 hp and 149 Nm through a CVT automatic, returns an official 6.1 litres per 100 km. Dubai traffic and the AC working flat out push real-world driving closer to 7, but that's still one of the lighter cars in the fleet to feed. The 41-litre tank is good for roughly 500 to 600 km of city driving, so even a week with no mileage cap tends to mean one or two stops at the pump, not a constant search for a station. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental are the renter's responsibility, standard for every car here, and worth factoring in if the unlimited mileage tempts you into more E11 running than usual.
Heat is the other real concern in July and August, and a small cabin works in your favour. There's less air to chill, so the Kicks pulls down from a baking 48-degree car park to comfortable faster than a bigger SUV manages in the same wait. The front vents are strong. There are no rear vents on this generation, so back-seat passengers get air pushed through from the front, fine for one or two people and slower to reach a full row on the worst afternoons. Park in shade when you can and it stops being an issue. The cabin plastics are hard and plain, in line with the price, but everything is screwed together well.
Rent the Kicks if you're one or two people, or a couple with a young child, who want a compact crossover, low running costs, and no mileage math to do before a weekend out of the city. Commuters, residents settling in between cars, and anyone who splits their week between city errands and the odd long drive get the most out of the unlimited allowance, because that's exactly the mixed use a capped rental would charge extra for.
Look bigger if you're regularly four adults with full luggage, or you want rear vents and proper back-seat room for a family through a Dubai summer. A mid-size SUV costs a little more to run but won't feel strained with a full load, and if the plan includes Hatta's rougher tracks or any real off-roading, this isn't the car either, front-wheel drive on road tyres keeps it on the blacktop. The Kicks 2024 delivers to your door in one to two hours, you'll need to be 25 to take the keys, and with unlimited mileage included, it's an easy car to stop watching the odometer for.
