Nissan Kicks 2023 - start from 186 AED / day

Need a small crossover that won't eat your week's fuel budget? We rent the Nissan Kicks 2023 across Dubai with doorstep delivery and 250 km a day included, which is more daily distance than most city renters ever use. This is the easy pick for a solo driver or a couple who want crossover height and looks on an economy budget. It handles errands, the daily commute and a light airport run without fuss. What it isn't is a highway weapon or a desert toy, and the rest of this page is about where that line sits.

What you're actually renting

The Kicks is a subcompact crossover, so you sit higher than a hatchback but it parks like one. Under the bonnet is a 1.6-litre four producing 122 hp, sent to the front wheels through an automatic. That's front-drive only, no all-wheel grip, which is fine for everything Dubai's roads ask of a city car and not enough for soft sand. Treat it as a tall, frugal economy car with a better view out, and you'll be happy.

Running costs and how often you'll refuel

This is the Kicks' best argument. On a 50-litre tank and around 7.5 L/100 km in mixed city and road use, you're looking at roughly 650 km between fills. For most renters that's the better part of a week before the gauge gets serious. Sit in Dubai traffic with the AC fighting 45-degree heat and that number drops, closer to 9 L/100 km in stop-and-go, but it's still cheap to keep moving. If your week is errands, commuting and the odd evening out, you'll fill up once and forget about it.

A reminder on the running side: Salik tolls and any RTA fines go to you, the renter, not to us. Most city routes dodge the gantries, so plan your Sheikh Zayed Road crossings and the cost stays small.

Parking and the daily drive

Here's where the Kicks earns its keep. At under 4.3 metres long and 1.76 wide, it slots into the tight multi-storey bays at Marina and the malls that bigger crossovers have to fight. U-turns are quick, the turning circle is tidy, and you're not sweating the gap on either side. The raised seat makes judging the nose easier than a low hatch, which helps in a packed car park.

Ground clearance is about 178 mm, enough to clear Dubai's tall speed bumps and steep mall ramps without scraping. That's the practical use of the clearance here. It is not an invitation to leave the tarmac, because front-drive and a road tyre will bog down the moment you try a dune.

On Sheikh Zayed Road, honestly

The Kicks is comfortable at the 100 to 120 limits on the E11 and will cruise there all day. Be honest about the 122 hp, though. Ask for a brisk overtake at speed, fully loaded with the AC running, and the automatic takes a beat to find its legs and the engine gets loud. For a relaxed driver this is a non-issue. If you regularly need to surge past traffic on the open road, or you're hauling four adults and luggage often, this engine will feel stretched and you'd be happier in a bigger crossover.

Heat, AC and a small cabin

A parked car bakes fast here in summer. The upside of the Kicks' smaller cabin is that the AC has less air to chill, so it pulls the temperature down quicker than a big seven-seater once you get rolling. Front vents do the heavy lifting; rear passengers feel less of the blast, so on a hot day let it run a couple of minutes before everyone climbs in. For one or two people up front, cooling is a strength, not a weakness.

Luggage and who fits

The boot is genuinely good for the class at 716 litres, and it'll swallow more than the badge suggests. Two large cases plus a couple of soft bags go in for an airport run, and dropping the rear seats opens up 916 litres for a bigger shop or sports gear. For a couple flying in or out of DXB or a quick DWC hop, the space is rarely the problem.

Four adults is where it tightens. Three across the back works for a short hop, but for four passengers plus a full set of airport cases, the boot and the engine both start asking for mercy. That's your signal to size up.

The verdict

Rent the Kicks 2023 if you're solo or a couple who want a frugal, easy-to-park crossover with a high seat and low running costs, mostly for city driving, commuting and light airport duty. It's one of the cheapest sensible ways to get crossover height in Dubai without paying for size you won't use. If you've got four adults to move regularly, a lot of fast highway overtaking, or any plan to leave the asphalt for Hatta or the dunes, skip it and book a larger front-runner or a proper 4x4. Inside its lane, the Kicks is hard to beat on value.
