Mitsubishi Xpander 2025 - start from 337 AED / day

We bring the Mitsubishi Xpander 2025 to your door in Dubai, usually within one to two hours of booking, so the newest version of Mitsubishi's seven-seat people-mover can be parked outside your building before the school run. It's the freshest take on a simple idea: a roomy, easy-to-drive MPV that carries the whole family for very little money. If your week is a couple of adults, a few kids, and the odd airport run, the Xpander does that without asking you to step up to anything bigger or pricier. As an affordable daily with two seats to spare, it's hard to beat, as long as you go in honest about what a 1.5-litre engine and a small third-row boot can and can't do.

What you're actually renting

The Xpander reads as a tall, practical hatchback that happens to seat seven. The cabin is genuinely flexible: the second and third rows fold flat, so you can run it as a five-seater with a deep load bay one day and a full seven-up shuttle the next. For families, that flexibility is the whole point. Two adults up front, two or three kids in the middle, and the back row for older children or short hops, all in a car that still slots into a normal parking bay.

The engine is the honest part of the conversation. It's a 1.5-litre four-cylinder making 105 horsepower through a front-wheel-drive automatic. Around the city with light to medium loads, it's perfectly content. Fill all seven seats and point it up a long incline, and you'll feel it working. There's enough to keep pace on Sheikh Zayed Road, but plan your overtakes rather than expecting instant push.

Does my family and luggage fit

Seven seats, yes. Seven adults plus a week of bags, no. Be realistic about the third row. It's good for kids and fine for adults on a short trip across town, but legroom back there is modest and headroom is better suited to younger passengers. The bigger trade-off is luggage. With all three rows up, you get around 200 litres behind the back seats, which swallows a few soft bags or a grocery run, not three hard suitcases.

Most families keep the third row folded for daily driving, which gives a wide, flat load floor that handles a stroller, a bulk shop, or a couple of large cases with ease. Need the extra seats for a day out or an airport pickup? Flip them up and accept that the boot behind them is tight. For a DXB or DWC run with four people and their cases, fold one section of the back row and split the load. It works, but it asks for a bit of planning.

Heat, AC and the rear seats

Dubai summers sit in the mid-40s, and a car parked in the open gets brutal inside. The Xpander's AC is a conventional system, strong at the front vents, and it pulls a hot cabin down to comfortable within a few minutes of driving with the fans up. The detail that matters for a family car: there are rear vents feeding the second and third rows, so kids in the back aren't left waiting on cold air that never reaches them. On the worst afternoons, crack the windows for ten seconds to dump the trapped heat before you set off. It's a budget-class climate setup, not a luxury one, but for a seven-seater at this price it does the job.

Driving it around Dubai

For a car this roomy, it's easy to live with. The body is tall but narrow enough that Marina ramps, mall bays, and tight U-turns don't intimidate. Light steering and a compact turning circle make parking simpler than the seat count suggests, which is the quiet advantage of an MPV over a full-size seven-seat SUV. The raised ride height clears speed bumps without scraping.

On the 45-litre tank at roughly 7 litres per 100km in mixed driving, you're looking at close to 600 km between fills, so a week of school runs and errands rarely means more than one visit to the pump. Loaded up on the highway, expect that to drop. A few reminders: Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental are billed to you, seat belts are required in every row, and a child seat is mandatory for under-fours.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Xpander 2025 if you want the newest, cheapest sensible way to move a family of five or six around Dubai, with two spare seats for the occasions you need them. It's a comfortable, low-cost daily that parks easily and sips fuel, and for that brief it's one of the best-value cars we hand over.

Look elsewhere if you regularly carry seven adults and their luggage, or if you'll spend most of the week loaded up on the highway. The small engine and the modest third-row boot are real limits, and a larger seven-seat SUV will haul a full load and big cases with far less effort. For the family that mostly travels four or five, with the back row as occasional backup, the Xpander is the smart, affordable choice.
