You can rent the Mitsubishi Xpander 2025 from 18 with us, most Dubai desks want you at 21 or 25, and we deliver it to your door within an hour or two. It's a seven-seat MPV that behaves far more like a tall, easy hatchback than the big family SUV its price undercuts. The case for it is simple. If you need seven belts on the days that call for them but spend most of the week carrying four or five people and their kit, the Xpander gives you that flexibility cheaply, as long as you accept a modest engine and a small boot when every seat is in use. Here's how it actually lives with a Dubai week.
For a car with three rows, the Xpander is remarkably unfussy. You sit high with big windows and light controls, so the morning drop-off or a mall car park never feels like work. It's longer than a hatchback but narrow at 1750 mm, which keeps it honest in tight multi-storey bays, on Marina ramps, and through U-turns that would have a full-size SUV shuffling.
The 220 mm of ground clearance is genuinely useful here. It clears speed bumps and the steeper mall ramps without scraping, and it gives you the confidence to take a graded track out to a desert camp or a quiet spot near Hatta, so long as you stay off soft sand where a front-wheel-drive MPV has no business.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Class / body | 7-seat MPV, 5-door |
| Seats | 7 |
| Engine | 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol |
| Power | 105 hp |
| Torque | 141 Nm |
| Transmission | Automatic (CVT) |
| Drive | Front-wheel drive |
| Fuel tank | 45 litres |
| Fuel economy | around 8.9 L/100km in mixed use |
| Dimensions (L x W x H) | 4595 x 1750 x 1730 mm |
| Ground clearance | 220 mm |
| Boot (third row up) | around 160 litres |
| Colour | White |
This is the honest caveat. The 1.5-litre making 105 hp is fine around town and unbothered with a light load, but it works harder once seven bodies and the AC are aboard and you're up to highway speed. On Sheikh Zayed Road it holds the limit without drama, yet overtaking with a full car needs a run-up and a plan, not a flick of the right foot.
Drive it as a relaxed cruiser and it never feels strained. The reward is the running cost. At roughly 8.9 litres per 100km, the 45-litre tank covers a comfortable week of school runs and errands between fills, which is the kind of economy a seven-seat SUV rarely matches.
Seven seats sounds generous, and for short hops it is. Treat the third row as occasional space, good for two children or for adults on a quick cross-town run, tight for grown-ups on anything longer. The genuine trade-off is luggage. With all three rows up the boot drops to around 160 litres, enough for a few shopping bags and little else.
Fold that back row and the load area opens right up, easily enough for a family's cases and a pram. So the honest question is how full the car will actually be. Five people plus a packed boot for a DXB run or a weekend away? The Xpander does that comfortably. Seven people and all their luggage at once is where it gets tight, and a full-size seven-seat SUV makes more sense.
In summer the tall cabin bakes after an hour in the sun, and the AC needs a few minutes to pull it down from the high 40s. Front and middle-row passengers get the strongest airflow, while the third row cools more slowly. On the hottest days, start it and let it run before you load small children into the back. That's a real consideration in a car you're likely renting precisely to move kids around.
The standing rules are the usual ones. Salik tolls run up automatically at the gantries and bill to you, RTA fines during your rental are yours, seat belts are required in every seat, and under-fours need a child seat, which we can fit on request.
Rent the Xpander 2025 if you want a roomy, cheap-to-run daily for a family of four or five with two spare seats for the days you need them, and you like that renting from 18 opens it up to younger drivers. For school runs, mall trips and weekend drives with the back row folded for cargo, it does the people-carrier job and asks almost nothing of the driver.
Size up to a larger seven-seat SUV if you genuinely need all seven seats filled and a full boot at the same time, or you want real pace and pulling power for long highway hauls with everyone aboard. Match the Xpander to how full it'll really be, and it's one of the most stress-free, best-value family rentals in its class.
