Pay on delivery in cash, by card, or through Apple Pay and Google Pay, and we'll bring the Mitsubishi Xpander 2021 to you anywhere in Dubai inside an hour or two. It's a seven-seat MPV at a rate well under what a family SUV costs, and on an older plate it's one of the cheapest ways to move a full household for a week. The argument is value, plainly. For a family of four or five who need two extra seats now and then, the 2021 Xpander gives you the space and the low running cost without the SUV premium, so long as you're straight with yourself about the modest engine and the small boot when all seven seats are up.
The appeal is calm and cost, not speed. You sit high with big windows and light steering, so the daily drop-off and the mall car park don't wear you out. The 1.5-litre engine and CVT are tuned for smooth progress in stop-start traffic rather than urgency, which suits Dubai's roads well.
What makes it genuinely liveable is the layout. The middle row slides and folds, the doors open wide, and getting a child seat in and buckled doesn't mean wrestling through a narrow gap. For this rate, you'd struggle to find an easier car to run that still seats seven when you need it.
Seven belts sound generous, and for short hops they are. Think of the third row as occasional space, fine for two kids or for adults on a quick run across town, tight for grown-ups over any distance. The honest catch is cargo. With all three rows up, the boot holds around 160 litres, which takes a few bags and not much more.
Fold that back row down and the load area opens right out, comfortably enough for a family's cases and a pram. So plan around how you'll actually use it. Five aboard with a full boot for a Hatta weekend or an airport run works well. Seven aboard with everyone's luggage at the same time is where it gets tight, and a bigger SUV earns its keep.

With 105 hp pulling a body this size, the Xpander is untroubled around town and works harder once it's loaded and up to speed. On Sheikh Zayed Road it holds the limit fine, but overtaking with seven aboard and the AC running takes planning, not a quick prod of the pedal. Treat it as a relaxed cruiser and it never feels strained.
The payoff shows up at the pump. At roughly 8.9 litres per 100km, the 45-litre tank gives a comfortable week of school runs and errands between fills. That kind of economy from a seven-seater is a big part of why this car rents well to families watching the weekly budget.
In summer the tall cabin gets hot after an hour parked in the sun, and the AC takes a few minutes to pull it down from the high 40s. Front and middle-row passengers get the strongest airflow while the third row cools more slowly, so on the hottest days start the car and let it run before you load small children into the back.
For its size it parks easily. The 220 mm of clearance clears speed bumps and steeper mall ramps without scraping, and the high seat helps in tight multi-storey bays and on U-turns. It's longer than a hatchback but narrow, so the Marina basement and the airport short-stay don't intimidate it. A few standing rules: Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental pass to you, seat belts are required in every seat, and under-fours need a child seat, which we can fit on request.
Rent the Xpander 2021 if you want a roomy, cheap-to-run family car for four or five, with two spare seats for the odd day you need them, and you'd rather save money on an older plate than pay for the newest one. For school runs, mall trips and weekend drives with the back row folded for luggage, it does exactly what a people carrier should and asks very little of the driver.
Size up to a full-size seven-seat SUV if you regularly need all seven seats filled and a full boot together, or you want real pace for long, loaded highway hauls. Match the car to how full it'll actually be, and the 2021 Xpander is one of the most stress-free, best-value family rentals you can put on your driveway for the week.
