The one question worth settling before you book the Mitsubishi Outlander 2025 is whether you need seven seats and a full boot at the same time, because that single decision tells you if this is your car. We rent this grey example in Dubai with doorstep delivery in one to two hours and 250 km a day included, and it's the refined current Outlander: a midsize three-row SUV with all-wheel drive, a smarter cabin, and a high, commanding view. Our pitch is that it nails almost everything a family week here asks for, with two honest caveats. Get those right and it's an easy car to live with.
Seven seats, three rows, but read it the way we would at the desk. The first two rows are genuinely roomy. Two adults up front and three across the middle travel in comfort, with second-row vents keeping the kids cool, which matters more than anything in July.
The third row is real rather than a marketing line, but it's for children or short hops. Two kids ride back there fine across town; two adults will manage twenty minutes and grumble after. The bigger catch is the boot. With all seven seats up, cargo space is tight, enough for a few soft bags or the weekly shop, not a family's airport luggage. Fold the third row and you get a large, usable boot that takes several suitcases. So if you need seven seats and luggage together, this is the wrong car, and that's the honest line on it.
This is the test that matters from May to September. Park it in the sun at 45 degrees, start it, set the AC low, and the front vents pull the heat out fast, with the second row getting its own outlets so the kids aren't waiting on cold air. That rear airflow is the difference between a usable family SUV and a hot box, and the Outlander has it. Because we deliver in one to two hours, you can also have it parked and pre-cooled before everyone climbs in.

At 4.71 metres it's a midsize SUV, not a full-size one, so it parks more easily than its tall stance suggests. Marina towers and mall multi-storeys are manageable, and the high seat plus a reversing camera take the guesswork out of tight bays. Around 210 mm of ground clearance clears Dubai's aggressive speed bumps and steep mall ramps without scraping, which the lower crossovers in this price band can't always claim. For a family that lives between apartment parking and mall basements, that combination of easy size and useful clearance is the practical win.
The 2.5-litre petrol makes 181 hp through a CVT, sent to all four wheels. It's tuned for comfort, not pace, so it pulls cleanly around town and cruises happily on Sheikh Zayed Road, though the CVT can drone if you bury the throttle to overtake. Plan your overtakes early on the E11 and you'll never notice. For airport runs to DXB and DWC and a week of mall and beach trips, the engine is exactly enough.
The all-wheel drive helps on a graded track, a wet road, or a firm beach approach, but it's not a dune car. The road-biased tyres and crossover setup are built for grip on loose gravel and in the rain, not soft sand. For real desert driving, rent a body-on-frame 4x4 instead.
Expect around 8.9 litres per 100 km on a week of mixed city and highway driving, which gives a real-world range near 600 km from the 55-litre tank. That's usually one fill for a normal week, maybe a top-up if you commute far daily, and with 250 km a day included most renters never reach the extra-kilometre rate. Salik tolls run on the car and pass to you, as do any RTA fines, so keep to the limits and the lane discipline. Seat belts are required in every seat, and children under four need a child seat, which we can fit on request.
Rent the Outlander 2025 if you want a comfortable, well-equipped family SUV for a Dubai week and you'll mostly run five up, with the third row in reserve for occasional extra kids or a short hop. That's the sweet spot, and the cabin feels a step nicer than the badge suggests. Look elsewhere in two cases. If you carry six or seven people and their luggage at once, the boot defeats you, so size up to a larger seven-seater or take a five-seat SUV for more cargo. And if your trip is built around dune bashing, skip the crossover and take a proper 4x4. For everyone in between, this is a sensible, easy week.
