Mitsubishi Outlander 2024 - start from 269 AED / day

The Mitsubishi Outlander 2024 is the midsize SUV we point Dubai renters at when they want seven seats without the rate or the bulk of a full-size hauler, and we deliver this brown example to your door with generous mileage built in, 250 km a day before any extra charge. It's a comfortable, front-wheel-drive family SUV with a tall view, a modern cabin, and a sensible 2.5-litre petrol. The argument we'd make at the desk is simple: this is the everyday family choice, easy to park, cheap to run, with a third row held in reserve. Where it stops making sense is dunes and seven-up-with-luggage, and we'll say so plainly.

Where it belongs on Dubai roads

This Outlander runs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol making 181 hp through an automatic gearbox, driving the front wheels. It's tuned for comfort rather than pace, so it pulls away cleanly and settles into a quiet cruise on Sheikh Zayed Road without fuss. Overtaking on the E11 wants a moment of planning rather than a sudden surge, which suits a family car carrying people and bags. For the airport runs to DXB and DWC and the daily school-and-mall loop, the engine is exactly enough.

Being front-wheel drive, treat it as a road and light-track SUV. Firm graded surfaces and a beach approach are fine, but soft sand is not its job. If a desert weekend is the plan, take a proper body-on-frame 4x4 instead.

Fuel and how often you'll fill up

The 55-litre tank and roughly 8.9 litres per 100 km combined give a real-world range close to 600 km. In practice that's one fill for a normal week of city driving and the odd highway stretch, maybe a top-up if you're commuting far each day. With the included 250 km a day, most renters never touch the extra-kilometre rate, and the modest thirst keeps a week of family running cheap. That balance of seats, space, and running cost is most of why this body style books out here.

Does the family and the luggage fit

Here's the honest version of the seven-seat headline. The first two rows are genuinely roomy, with two adults up front and three across the middle travelling in comfort. The third row folds up from the boot floor and is best kept for kids or short hops, a school overflow or two extra cousins to the mall. Tall adults back there for a long run won't thank you.

Luggage is the real trade-off. With all seven seats up, the boot takes a few soft bags, not a stack of hard cases. Drop the third row and it opens into a proper, large load space that handles a week's suitcases. So the practical week is five people with a full boot, or seven people travelling light. If you're four adults with airport cases every day, a five-seat SUV keeps the boot clear and serves you better.

Heat, AC and the cabin

Park anything in a Dubai August and the cabin hits oven heat by midday, and the Outlander's large glass area means plenty of sun load. Give the AC a minute with the doors open before you load kids in. Once it's running, the front and middle vents pull a parked cabin down to comfortable within a few minutes, and the rear vents keep the second row honest. The third row sits furthest from the cold air, another reason it suits short trips over a baking crawl. The high dashboard and tall windows give a commanding view that helps in heavy traffic and tight bays.

Parking, ramps and speed bumps

At 4.71 metres it's a midsize SUV, not a barge, so it slots into standard mall and tower bays without the breath-holding of a full-size seven-seater. The turning circle handles Marina U-turns, and the high seat makes placing it easy. Around 210 mm of ground clearance clears Dubai's aggressive community speed bumps and steep mall ramps cleanly, with no scraping into the basement. That clearance plus the tall view is most of why families pick this shape.

The running costs that fall to you

Salik tolls run on the car and pass to you at the gantries, and any RTA fines during your rental are yours, so keep to the limits on the E11. Seat belts are required in every row, and children under four need a child seat, worth planning for given that third row, which we can fit on request.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Outlander 2024 if you want a comfortable, well-equipped family SUV with the option of seven seats and a low running cost, and you're realistic that the third row is for kids and short hops. It's the sensible value pick for a Dubai week split between the school gate, the mall, and the airport. Skip it if you need a clear boot for four adults and a week of hard cases, where a five-seat SUV serves better, or if dunes are on the itinerary, where a proper 4x4 is the honest choice.
