Mercedes Gt63 2021 - start from 1,531 AED / day

We hand over the Mercedes GT63 2021 across Dubai with 250 km a day built into the rental, so a morning blast out past the city and back doesn't eat into a separate mileage tally. This is the four-door AMG that behaves like a supercar but seats your friends, a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 wrapped in a long, low coupe body with real back seats. The decision this page helps you make is simple: whether the GT63 is the right car for your week, or whether a quiet luxury sedan or a focused two-seater would serve you better.

What the GT63 actually is

Think of it as a supercar that gave up two things, a fixed roof's drama and a stripped cabin, in exchange for usability. The engine is a hand-built 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 making 577 hp, sent through a 9-speed AMG transmission to all four wheels via 4MATIC+. It clears 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and runs to an electronically governed 310 km/h. Those aren't sedan numbers. They're the kind of figures that make the car feel almost violent when you bury the throttle, and the V8 noise on a cold start is the reason people book it in the first place.

What makes it different from a two-seat exotic is the four-seat cabin. Two adults sit comfortably in the back for a dinner run or a hotel transfer, which a Huracan or a 911 GT3 simply can't offer.

Living with it in Dubai heat

Park a black coupe in open sun in July and the cabin bakes. The good news is the GT63's climate system is strong and the cabin volume is modest for a four-door, so it pulls down from oven heat to comfortable inside a few minutes of driving rather than a slow crawl. Rear passengers get their own vents, which matters on a long Sheikh Zayed Road run at 45 degrees. We'd still suggest starting it remotely or cracking the windows for thirty seconds before you climb in, because leather and a south-facing windscreen are an unforgiving combination here.

Refuelling a V8, honestly

This is where you decide if the GT63 fits your trip. Expect real-world consumption well above the official 13.7 L/100km combined figure once you start using the engine, and on a hot city week with the AC working hard you'll feel it. The 80-litre tank is generous, but a heavy right foot through a few highway pulls drains it faster than you'd guess. If you plan to drive it the way it wants to be driven, budget for more frequent fuel stops than any economy or even a regular luxury sedan would need. That's the cost of the V8. Nobody rents this car to save fuel.

Parking, ramps and that low nose

At just over five metres long and nearly two metres wide, the GT63 is a big car to thread through a tight multi-storey or a Marina basement bay. The width is the part that catches people out at parking pillars and narrow ramp turns. The low nose is the other thing to respect. Ground clearance sits around 125 mm, so aggressive speed bumps and the steeper mall entry ramps need a slow, sometimes angled approach to avoid scraping the front lip. Take it gently over the sharp humps in residential areas and you'll be fine. Rush one and you'll wince.

Boot space and the four-seat question

The 540-litre boot is genuinely useful for a performance four-door. Two medium suitcases plus a couple of soft bags fit without a fight, which is more than most supercars manage and enough for a long weekend for two. For four people with full airport luggage it gets tight, so plan for soft bags over hard cases if the back seats are occupied. A DXB or DWC arrival in this car is a statement, and the boot will swallow a reasonable haul, but it isn't a family wagon.

On Sheikh Zayed Road and beyond

This is where the GT63 earns its keep. Cruising at highway speed it's relaxed and planted, the 4MATIC+ giving it traction most rear-drive supercars would envy when you squeeze the throttle to overtake. An early-morning run out of the city, light traffic, V8 awake, is the experience you're paying for. The ride is firm. Over patched tarmac and expansion joints you feel more than you would in an S-Class, and that firmness is constant, not occasional. As the renter you cover Salik tolls and any RTA fines, and seatbelts are mandatory for everyone in the car, the kind of detail that's easy to forget in something this quick.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the GT63 if you want supercar pace and noise without giving up a back seat, for a milestone weekend, a head-turning arrival, or a fast highway blast where you'll actually use the engine. It's the rare car that does drama and four seats at once. If your week is mostly airport runs and quiet comfort, a luxury sedan rides softer and sips less fuel, and you'll arrive less rattled. If you want pure driving focus and don't need the rear seats, a two-seat supercar is sharper and more single-minded. The GT63 sits between those two on purpose, and for the right trip that middle ground is exactly the point. A young-driver policy and stricter security terms may apply, so confirm the details when you book.
