The McLaren Artura 2025 is a supercar you can drive without anyone hearing you leave. Switch to electric mode and it eases out of a hotel forecourt or a basement car park on battery power alone, no woken neighbours, no valet flinching at a cold start. That is not a footnote on this car, it is the point: a 690 hp plug-in hybrid V6 that can be silent for the first kilometre and properly vicious for the rest of the drive. We deliver the Artura in blue to your door across Dubai, usually within one to two hours of booking. The real question is whether a two-seat hybrid with almost no boot fits your week, or whether you need something that carries more.
McLaren dropped the naturally aspirated V8 for this car and went with something smaller: a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 paired with an axial-flux electric motor built into the transmission housing. Combined output is 690 hp and 720 Nm, sent through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels only. McLaren claims 0 to 100 km/h in about three seconds and a limited top speed of 330 km/h, numbers that used to need a V10 or a bigger, laggier turbo setup to reach.
The electric side is not decoration. A 7.4 kWh battery gives roughly 30 km of electric-only driving on the WLTP cycle, enough to clear a hotel driveway, a parking building or a quiet residential street before the V6 wakes up. Come out of electric mode and the motor keeps working in the background, filling the gap while the turbos spool, so there's none of the flat-footed lag older turbocharged McLarens were known for. The V6 note is tighter and more metallic than the V8 it replaced, less operatic wail and more hard-edged snarl past 4,000 rpm. On a clear stretch of Sheikh Zayed Road the pull from a stop is immediate, electric torque first, then the turbos catching up a beat later. Rear-wheel drive and 690 hp mean a heavy right foot on a wet ramp or a painted lane line deserves respect, and this car has no business near sand.

There is no back row, so the passenger count settles itself: it is you and one other person, full stop. Everything you bring travels in the front boot, around 160 litres, enough for two soft holdalls or a couple of backpacks and not much beyond that. A hard suitcase off a DXB flight is a poor fit, so this is the wrong car for an airport run with real luggage. That is not really a flaw, it is the deal every mid-engined two-seater asks you to accept.
McLaren does not publish a ground clearance figure for the Artura, and the nose sits noticeably low. Steep mall ramps, tight driveway entries and the sharper speed bumps around the Marina and Downtown will catch the front splitter if you take them square. Some cars carry an optional front-axle lift that raises the nose a few centimetres at low speed. Ask us whether the specific car you are booking has it fitted, and use it on every ramp rather than guessing. At close to two metres wide, tight multi-storey bays want a slow, deliberate line rather than confidence.
McLaren rates the Artura at 4.6 litres per 100 km combined on the WLTP cycle, a full-battery lab number, not what you will see once the charge is gone and the V6 is carrying the car through a week of Sheikh Zayed Road runs. Budget for a proper supercar's thirst past that first electric-assisted stretch, and fill the 65-litre tank with premium fuel. Charging the 7.4 kWh battery from empty takes roughly two and a half to three hours on a home-style charger, workable overnight with a socket nearby, but most renters here will treat the electric range as a bonus rather than a habit to maintain daily.
The rental allows 250 km a day, with extra kilometres billed at AED 0.5 each, comfortable for city driving and the odd airport run without watching the odometer closely. The cabin is small and wrapped tight around two seats, with a lot of glass overhead, so a few hours parked at 45 degrees in July leaves it properly hot by the time you climb back in. Once you are moving, the air conditioning has very little space to cool and pulls the temperature down fast, and there are no rear vents to think about because there is no rear seat. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental pass to you, and seat belts are mandatory for both seats.
Rent the McLaren Artura 2025 if there are two of you, you are packing light, and part of the appeal is a supercar that does not announce itself every time you leave somewhere. Gliding out on electric power, then opening the V6 up once you are clear, is a genuinely different experience from any naturally aspirated McLaren or Lamborghini in the fleet, and 690 hp with the electric motor filling the gaps makes it feel faster than the number alone suggests.
Look elsewhere if you need to carry a third person or real luggage for the week. A Urus or a Bentayga gets you close to the same drama with room for both. If what you actually want is noise over cleverness, an older naturally aspirated V8 or a Huracan gives you more theatre for the same money. Being a McLaren, the Artura goes out against a refundable deposit confirmed at booking rather than a no-deposit deal, and you need to be at least 25 to take the keys. Book it for the quiet exit as much as the loud one, because that contrast is the whole reason this car exists.
