Mazda CX-5 2025 - start from 249 AED / day

Renting from 18 is the first thing worth knowing, because most desks in this city won't hand you a compact SUV until you turn 21. We'll deliver the Mazda CX-5 2025 to your door in Dubai inside one to two hours, and you can settle by debit card, cash, or even Apple Pay. What the CX-5 actually earns its keep on is the boring stuff that decides a good week: a cabin that cools fast, a boot that swallows real luggage, and running costs that don't punish you for a daily commute. This page is about whether it fits your everyday Dubai life, not whether it's the sportiest thing on the lot.

What you're actually renting

The CX-5 here is the 2.0-litre petrol, 150 horsepower, paired with an automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive. Five seats, a proper SUV body, and none of the turbo theatrics some versions chase. For airport runs, mall trips, and a daily drive between Marina and the office, that's the sensible end of the range. You sit high, you see over traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road, and you're not paying for power you'll rarely use on a 250 km daily allowance.

Does your luggage fit

For a family of four heading to DXB or DWC, the answer is usually yes. The boot takes two large hard cases and a couple of soft bags without folding anything, and that's the case for a week-long stay, not a weekend. Drop the rear seats and you've got a flat load floor long enough for flat-pack furniture or a bike with the front wheel off. The honest limit is four adults plus a full week of airport luggage. At that point you're stacking bags on laps, and a larger SUV or a sedan with a deep boot makes more sense. For two adults and two kids, there's room to spare.

Heat, AC, and the parked-cabin problem

Dubai summers sit in the high 40s, and the test that matters is how fast a car that's been baking in a mall car park gets liveable again. The CX-5's cabin is mid-sized, so the AC doesn't have a cavernous space to fight. Front vents pull hard, and you'll feel cold air in a couple of minutes rather than the five-plus a big seven-seater needs. Rear passengers get their own vents at the back of the centre console, which matters if you've got kids strapped in behind you. Park in shade when you can, crack the windows for ten seconds before you blast the AC, and it settles quickly.

Parking, speed bumps, and tight ramps

At 4575 mm long it's a compact SUV, not a barge, so multi-storey bays and Marina ramps aren't a fight. You'll fit standard parking spaces without the nose-out shuffle a full-size SUV demands, and the reversing camera makes the tighter mall basements painless. Ground clearance of around 200 mm means the aggressive speed bumps near older communities and the steep entry to some basement garages don't scrape, which a low sedan can't promise. U-turns on the wider roads are comfortable; the turning circle won't have you reversing twice in a residential cul-de-sac.

How often you'll refuel

The 58-litre tank is the practical number here. On mostly city driving with the AC running hard, expect to fill up roughly once a week on normal errands, and petrol in Dubai is cheap enough that this is a minor line in your week. The 2.0-litre is tuned for economy rather than outright pace, so steady highway cruising on the E11 sips fuel rather than gulps it. If your week is heavy on long airport-and-back runs, you'll stretch a tank further than the city figure suggests.

On the road

On Sheikh Zayed Road the CX-5 holds 120 without drama and overtakes with enough in reserve, though it's working harder than the turbo versions when you ask for a sudden surge. For daily Dubai driving that's a non-issue. The ride is settled over expansion joints and patchy tarmac, the steering is light enough for parking and accurate enough to feel planted at speed. It's a calm, predictable car, which is exactly what you want when you're navigating unfamiliar interchanges in a rental.

The Dubai rules that cost you

A few things land on the renter, not us. Salik tolls run automatically each time you pass a gantry and get billed to the rental. Any RTA speed or parking fine during your hire is yours to settle. Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, which we can fit on request. None of this is unusual for Dubai, but it's better to know before the first toll gantry than after.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the CX-5 2025 if you want a well-equipped, no-fuss compact SUV for everyday Dubai life: school runs, mall trips, the occasional airport haul for a small family, all on a budget that makes sense. It's the practical pick, and the rent-from-18 policy makes it one of the few real SUV options for younger drivers. Size up to a larger SUV or a roomy sedan only if you're regularly carrying four adults plus a full week of cases, or if you genuinely want the punch of the turbo engine. For most people booking a week in Dubai, this is the one that just works.
